1  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Geezers Alive and Kicking, Round 6 (SO by Jan 24, Send by Mar 31) on: January 15, 2015 10:03:56 AM
I just turned 30 in Nov... and haven't done a swap yet. I'm very tempted by this one!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Burnt Snowflake Ornaments on: December 12, 2014 04:58:11 PM
Sounds impossible, no?

I've seen these little babies all over the internet, so I decided to bang out a dozen woodburnt snowflake ornaments for quick gifts to the extended family. Designs were drawn on 3inch wood slabs after a hole was drilled in the top then I used my woodburning tool on it. Quick and easy - and will be finished off with some sealer and gold ribbon probably later this week.

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Rustic Snowmen on: December 12, 2014 04:51:15 PM
Decided to bang this out for my mother.

Five little rustic snowpeople. Buttons for the snowfamily with details done in embroidery thread (including the very bad french knots for buttons and eyes - I really need to work on those). Background is burlap straight from a coffee sack and measures 5x7. It's not perfect but I like it's character.

Late posting my pictures (due to Mom's hand surgery) but here is my wonderful package from jennythor!

First, an adorable pair of shrinky earrings.

A butterfly (one of my favorite things) tea cup pin cushion.

A Tea-Rex embroidery for my wall.

The teas! The chili chocolate chai is her own blend!!

Haul together!

Thanks so much! I love everything!

I've been wanting to learn how to make things like this... he may have to be my first project.

9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: I Heart Tea Swap Rd 2 - Sendout 1/06/2014 on: January 02, 2014 10:33:44 AM
Eep! Really happy for the extension now as they are calling for 4-7 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow. And silly me decided to do 'just one more thing' for my package last night so I am not ready to send today as planned. :/ Here's hoping it isn't too bad! Stay safe other people in the north east!

Philadelphia has a massive parade going on right now. I've lived here 8 years and attended only once (not on purpose). I always seem to end up working, severely hung over, or both. This year I worked....and since I'm not sick, I'm going to use the rest of today and tomorrow to finish craftings for this swap.

Here is some info on the parade: http://www.webpronews.com/mummers-parade-2014-phillys-new-years-day-celebration-2014-01

While the String Bands and Fancy Brigades are AWESOME and insanely talented, the rest is mostly just drunk people yelling and peeing all over the city to blaring music. Happy New Year!  Tongue

Gotta love those Mummers! Cheesy (Is a Quaker City girl!)
