yeah i agree, they aren't ooglie in the slightest! beau-dee-full
for the second pair why not embroider some beads in a flowy, wiggly pattern? it takes a strong needle, determination and time, but could look great

206  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 1st post ever. recon bag, recon blue strappy and need ideas for dress on: August 09, 2006 04:11:08 AM
hello everyone. i was browsing the internet two days ago and stumbled upon craftster - WOW! i've been reconning clothes since i've been about 12 - such as turning flared trousers into skirts with sarong panels at the back. how cool to find a website full of people who do similar things, everyone has such great ideas.

IGNORE the dates on the pictures, they are all wrong! i'm not very high tech so don't know how to alter my camera's settings... sorry!

here is a boring brown bag i jazzed up a bit with a fabric flower i had hanging around, a couple of buttons and some fabric from a gorgeous umbrella that fell apart! (very random i know, umbrella fabric...)

blue strappy with buttons ( a penguine and a telephone!) and yellow thread, far away then close up

lastly: here is a simple pink dress. it fits me, but is a little on the boring side of things, and somewhat resembles a pretty sack. has anyone got any ideas? i see a lot of the "jumper" type pinafore dress in posts but i'm not sure that would suit me as it seems that it would emphasise my stomach and bottom, which to be frank don't need any more emphasis! i don't mind turning it into a top, but please reply.

happy sewing!
