21  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: A Bunch of Baby Blankets on: October 02, 2010 12:35:01 PM
They are all really nice. I especially like the blue one.
22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / the boring square afghan and the fluffy starghan on: September 25, 2010 06:19:16 AM
Hi, here are some more recently completed projects. The first is a blanket that I started a few years ago when I first started to crochet. I kept going back to it, but found the square really boring to work on. The squares kind of turned out different sizes as well. Just recently I've been trying to finish some of my many incomplete projects so I just crocheted together what squares I had and added a border.

I'm just glad to have finished it at last  Undecided I do like the colours. I'm bad at sticking to a colour scheme and tend to use every colour I can get my hands on.

This is a fluffy starghan I made in my quest to produce the perfect baby blanket for my boyfriends sister. Still not convinced this is the one for her. I think I will wait to find out if it's a boy or girl, then I can experiment with more colour options. I do now have a house full of baby blankets now though  Smiley

Thanks for looking

Alice

24  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Hat and scarf on: September 21, 2010 11:26:35 AM
Here are a couple of things that i've been working on lately. The hat is inspired by some that I have seen on craftster. I just made it up as I went along and was really pleased with how it turned out.

please don't look too closely at my hair in this pic, I've got a week off work at the moment so i haven't felt the need to style/ brush it  Wink

This one is a close up of the bobbles I did on the edge

This is one of my favourite things I've made...

Thanks so much for the pattern http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=238536.0
So generous to share!

The close up.

Any comments/ critique welcome

The pattern for the first one is 'sweet dreams' from a book called 50 sensational crochet afghans and throws, but I kind of adapted it and used completely different yarn so it doesn't actually look like the one in the book. There are some absolutely gorgeous patterns in this book and I really recommend it  Smiley

Hi, thanks for the nice replies, I think I might add some flowers onto the second blanket, great idea  Smiley
The yarn used in the first blanket is a chunky yarn called Hayfield bonus galaxy. I have some more in green just waiting for a project idea. I think it's just a discount brand, but it really is soft, you just want to touch it! I  want to see how well it washes though before I give it away.

I've been working on a few baby blankets recently, I don't seem to be able to make one that is 'just right'.

This is the first one, I like the colour and the pattern, but it just feels a bit heavy.

This is just a simple one, maybe a bit too simple. I think it's a bit boring.  Undecided

and the close up

Please let me know what you think.
29  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / A few happy hooker projects on: July 14, 2010 02:01:22 PM
hi, just a few of my latest projects

my first filet crochet, I was really pleased with how this turned out,

my attempt at cold shoulders. The yarn I used is really itchy and I probably won't wear it. I'm going to make another in a different yarn

Short n sweet

I got soooo confused with this pattern but I got there in the end. I was so happy with this 'cos it's my first garment.

Thanks for looking, i'd love to hear your comments

30  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / new blanket- fantasy garden on: June 20, 2010 02:18:34 AM
This is my latest blanket finally finished. I used double yarn to make it bigger and quicker to make.

The squares were really easy and fun too make. It took about 2 months to complete with lots of other projects inbetween.

Thanks for looking  Smiley
