it just hit me.  im so putting a pic of my face at the bottom of the cereal bowl.  ha!  ok, im going to search the other threads for how exactly to do that.  maybe a whole matching set of dishes....

oooooh boy.  its sneakin up on me.  i dont know what to make the boy for his birthday!  i was going to make a bad ass mobile, but i' way to busy. i asked and he said to make a pillow for junebug (his dog).  not really what i had in mind.  super quiet, outdoorsy, stoner type with a dog.  hmm...i already bake stuff all the time.  camping in the mountains/alone time isnt so much an option at this point,  we have friends coming in that weekend from out of town.  ok im going to read the 15 pages of this thread i havent read yet, then ill check back here to see who has it all figured out for me.  and then ill continue having an anxiety attack.

i made a skirt similar - but the waist/tie was no good.  how did you do yours?

i think window covering are a good place to start.  do your window covering leave you with that perfect amount of light that makes you want to stay in bed all day on a saturday?  something soft and translucent or a very light color that can blow in the breeze.  also a fabric wall hanging/tapestry could do the trick.  im a dork, but i really like some one the ones at urban outfitters.  anyway, maybe the lighting is a good place to start.  figure out what you like...

So the idea is in there, all ready to go.  Its gonna be a mobile, and its gonna be really great, and its gonna be a present for my boy.  no half-assing here.  anyone have experince making calder-esque mobiles?  What kind of wire to use....how to balance this monster?  how to attach the wires?  ive done the appropriate web research, but im looking for advice from anyone who has  actually constructed such a contraption.  pictures are good.  alright, thats all, any advice welcome.
