5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Pinwheel Baby Blanket... or how I spent my summer vacation on: August 07, 2007 12:25:36 PM
I have to laugh at you saying you'll never do one of these again.  I said that too when I finished mine, then I did another one a couple months later.  I ate my words... big time!   Shocked

But guess what?  Your blanket is ADORABLE.  The colors are so vibrant, and I love the ruffle.  You did a great job, and I hope the family loves it!  Awesome!   Wink
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Dream Toys Mermaid & Pirate on: August 07, 2007 10:02:54 AM
I love how colorful these toys are!  I'm partial to the mermaid (her fins are GOLD!), but I love the pirate's socks and 5 o'clock shadow.  Awesome job!  I love it!  Grin

Thanks everyone!  I really appreciate the nice comments.   Grin

kelseybelle: Harry will be elated to know that he looks like Jim from the Office!   Wink

audio-astrophysics: Isn't it cool how life works like that?  I live about 45 minutes away from Wilmington and drive through there on the way to Columbus!  I love it!  I hope you enjoyed the party, and of course, the book!

Here are two more pictures, one that actually shows the hat, and one with more Rylie cuteness.  Oh, and she's not mine.  I'm kind of like a surrogate aunt.  Basically I'm the girl who knits stuff for her!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Harry Potter Mandrake Hat and House Scarf (warning: cute baby inside!) on: July 31, 2007 02:57:31 PM
To celebrate the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows release, I went with a bunch of my friends to a giant book party in Wilmington, Ohio!  Everyone dressed up, so naturally I thought I should do some HP knitting.

First: a Mandrake Hat!  Rylie had the pleasure of wearing it, and she looked great!  The hat was made out of Cotton Classic, and I used felt for the leaves.  The red thing on the top is kind of hard to see, but it's a ladybug.  I gave it 7 spots for good luck.   Wink

Here is a picture of me and Rylie, and you can see more of the roots, which I surface crocheted after finishing the hat:

Then I made the proverbial Gryffindor house scarf for my Harry look-a-like friend.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

And yes, that is Voldemort.  He was in our group.  ACTION SHOT!

Thanks for looking!   Cheesy

Seeing this makes me even MORE excited for the Harry Potter-centric weeks ahead.

Also, your chocolate magnet is completely awesome.  I think I need to make some of those!  AWESOME job!!   Grin
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: crochet earrings: bananas and apples on: May 19, 2007 10:24:51 AM
These are insane!  The banana peels make them art!  Great job!
