21  Re: Design Your Own Bag--along! in Knitalongs by eatyerhartout on: January 17, 2007 01:52:26 PM
Ok, here it is with only one handle and its soon-to-be-lining.

It turned out to be exactly 12" by 9". The handle isn't as stiff as it looks in the pic, but it does have clothesline sewn inside it.  Grin
So, what'dya think???

PS: I sewed in the zipper all by myself!! I have no idea if I did it right, though. lol. It looks ok to me, so it'll have to do. Now: off to attach the other handle and figure out how to handsew a zippered lining into a knit bag. hmmm....

Here are the in-progress shots as promised:

This pic is much darker than the actual yarn, but it shows the cable pattern well:

This next one shows the color of yarn better:

It's a fairly plain purse, but I think that's a good thing. I want the focus to be on the cable. Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions? Constructive criticism is always welcome!

I'm finished!!!!!!!!!!  Grin Yaaaaayyy!

Here it is before I made the lining. You can see the winnie the pooh fabric laying next to it. I'm not a big fan of the Pooh Bear, but the fabric was cute and it matches the tote:

The above picture is the best one I have of this tote. The next one isn't so good, but it shows its real size and the length of the strap:

It has been dubbed the BUTTERY GOODNESS TOTE!!!!!!  Cheesy

When making the pattern, I also wrote one for a change purse or small clutch, but haven't knit it yet. I may still, but for right now, I'm just thrilled I finished the tote without any major complications.

Questions/Comments anyone??

YAY I found batteries!!!!!!!!! Here are the pics I promised:

This is the front (or back):

Ain't it bea-uuuu-ti-ful!  Grin

Here are close-ups of the top ribbing and bottom:

The pictures really don't do the color justice. It's a rich creamy golden color. The top picture is the closest to the true color. What'dya think?

26  Re: Cute headband, with pattern! in Crochet: Completed Projects by eatyerhartout on: November 01, 2006 03:35:53 PM
sooo...I've been playing around with making this out of crochet thread (yay I remembered the name...I think  Cheesy) Here's what I have so far:

I left the hook in the photo so you could see how narrow the headband will be. I like it this way, but the million dollar question is: Should I continue??? Please advise.

P.S: Sorry it's such a bad photo.

27  My first knit hats! in Knitting: Completed Projects by eatyerhartout on: October 30, 2006 08:40:27 PM
Hello all! I just finished knitting these two super cute 'n easy hats and wanted to share them. I got the pattern from http://www.headhuggers.org/patterns/patterns.htm. It's number 20 on the left, called The Inside Out Knit Chemo Cap. It's knit with straight needles, instead of circulars. Here are the pics:

The top one is the original. The second one is modified slightly so the top is less pointy and keeps with the pattern instead of changing to stockinette. It's also a deep purple, not blue. Sorry about the bad lighting (and thighs Cheesy lol). I didn't feel comfortable putting a pic of myself on the internet for all to see.

Melanie.

Okay--so here's the final bag!! I'm so happy. In both pics, it's filled with all the things I usually carry to school (calculator, pencil, keys, wallet, cell, chapstick, eyedrops, kleenex, compact, sunglasses, and lotion...phew, that's a lot of stuff! lol).

The inner lining is all hand sewn with pockets along each side. 2 along the back, 1 zippered pocket along the front side, and 1 on either side big enough for keys and chapstick.

I hope y'all like it! I know I do.  Smiley

Oh--and pm me if you can't see the pics. I'm still getting used to posting them.

Hi again everyone! My purse is coming along nicely! It's all going to be in stockinette (except maybe for the handle...still deciding). Here's the blue-jean color of the yarn:

And here's the rough design:

Sorry for the crummy pictures. The flower (if you can see it) on the drawing will be embroidered in white. I've never embroidered anything, but I asked the lovely Craftster Godesses of the embroidery section if it could be done on knit fabric and they said yes. So, I hope it comes out ok.

Any suggestions? I was considering emroidering stars instead of a flower, but the inner lining I've chosen has white flowers on it. Thanks for looking.  Smiley

30  I'm so proud! in Knitting: Completed Projects by eatyerhartout on: August 12, 2006 04:04:26 PM
I'm so proud of myself!! I just finished my first knitted FO!!!! I followed this free pattern: http://www.zephyrstyle.com/page/page/3457570.htm called Twitterpated. I added a closure and used keyrings as a handle.

I can't seem to get the pictures to show up, so here are the links for them:
