1  tin, notebook and necklaces in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by merbs on: September 01, 2006 04:26:24 PM
My not-so-perfect brain cane using purple, magenta, black, white and a little turquoise. I covered an Altoid tin and also made it into covers for a small notebook(used to be a spiral notebook but I ditched the wire and used some cord).

I was thinking of turquoise when I did these beads but I didn't follow one of the many tutes out there to make it look 'real'. There is also a matching watch.

I've just started trying my hand at using eye pins, head pins and the such. I'm having fun!!!

Picked up two of these garden themed wood and wire plaques at Michael's for just 50 cents each.

Decoupaged with scrapbook paper and attached pics of my kids with photo corners. May use them as earring holders.

4  Re: Please post your best costume... in Halloween Costumes by merbs on: August 19, 2006 05:55:34 AM
Holy Cow! White pants and t with spray painted black spots, store bought kids' fairy wings and small silver Christmas garland for a halo.

Leggo My Eggo. The look I was going for was 'electrocuted when I stuck a fork in the toaster'.

My son couldn't decide between Freddie or Jason, so there's a little bit of both. Store bought mask, hatchet and knife-gloves. The shirt and sweater came from Goodwill. He ripped the one and painted the stripes on the sweater. He won 2nd place at the Sonics' costume contest. That was the same year I wore the LeggoMyEggo costume above. I was the ONLY adult dressed up!!!

My friend as the Kiss of Death and me as a French Kiss. It might not have happened if we hadn't found BIG Christmas gift bags that were plain silver inside. We walked around giving out Hershey's Kisses. "Hi, would you like a French Kiss?"

Another year, I was a deviled egg. White shirt with yellow felt on front for 'yolk'. Devil horns, tail and pitchfork. No pic. It was a rush job.

5  dragon or devil cow? in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by merbs on: August 13, 2006 03:57:46 PM
My son wanted to do something with my clay but jewelry wasn't it. Dragons came up and we stumbled on pics of some cute ones that he wanted to try. I'd love to say he stuck with it but he got frustrated and went back to the Xbox. My daughter and I gave it a go and had a good time laughing at our dragon.....that looks more like a devil cow. Son says he wants to try again the next time he visits and has more time(we got started late. no time for finessing before they went home).

6  window treatment in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by merbs on: August 10, 2006 06:38:08 PM
I've had these curtains up for awhile now. It's just 3 burgandy sheers rubberbanded together to make the 'rosettes' at the corners and tacked to the wall. While surfing around, I stumbled on the pic of a window treatment using strands of funky yarn and beads. I just happened to have a feathery yarn and a new box of beads. I strung about 20-30 beads randomly on each length of yarn then tacked them to the window frame. Wanted to do more but was tired and ran out of beads. Still thinking of something for the top middle(used to be a spray of artificial flowers but don't like that now).
