1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Christmas Stocking Swap! on: December 28, 2015 06:49:23 PM
Sorry- I am trying to do this with my iPad so things might get jumbled! (Also I apologize about not posting these sooner- My DH surprised me and took me to family for Christmas so it was a huge week of celebrations, and I haven't been online in a few days to get this posted!  Cheesy
Before we left I got to open my fantastic package and get some shots of the goodies. It was a nice variety and one of the things I love about swaps is that you get to see different crafts and talents.  Hippycannibal does woodburning- and she sent two pieces showcasing her talent. Smiley
Here are the pix of my stuff:

The stuffed package:
The loot:
Opened!
Close ups of the wood burned gifts (she did the panda box for my son which he absolutely loves!!)
The rainbow thing in the other pic was a gift for my older son- a wrist pad for him while he plays computer games- he doesn't get excited about too much, but he actually smiled over this one! Thanks!! Smiley she painted a bird on a map of Heidelberg (where I was born) it's going in this antique frame I found at an estate sale. Also she sent some chocolate Yuma that came on the trip with me. Haha. It's been a great Christmas- thanks so much, hippy c!!
I love it all and what a wonderful bunch of fantastic things.

I sent yesterday! I loved this swap, but boy December sure is a whirlwind around my house and work! Glad it gave me the opportunity to create since I've mostly been working and prepping/shopping for Christmas. Happy holidays, everyone!  Cheesy

Sad work......why do you get in the way of my fun times???

I've been doing overtime due to a death in the department where I work. Person was directly above me so we are trying to get everything organized. That and the holiday last week left me little crafting time and I got behind on my last few items. I need this weekend to get caught up! Sorry, Kmac! Hopefully, you'll think it'll be worth the extra few days!!!

I missed the food check in (family in town - AGAIN and a flurry of constant eating!) so food fave is stuffing!! My brother in law makes it and it's sooooo yummy. Also pumpkin pie. So good!

Next checkin- favorite movie... About to pop it in now while doing dome crafting- It's a Wonderful life. Always loved it, a holiday tradition here. Getting into holiday spirit for sure!

The days are rushing by!!! So my favorite song for the holidays is The Gift by Aselin Debison. It is the most beautiful song, but hardly heard on the radio.

I'm stull plugging away. I think this year Im going to ask Santa for more time.  Roll Eyes

I'd love to join this swap! Oct-Dec are always busy with birthdays and celebrations in our family, but most of them are kids so mine tends to get put on the back burner- or missed completely! I love giving gifts so I'm signing up.  Cheesy

I feel like I'm progressing like the turtle in the race with the rabbit. but slow and steady, right??  Cheesy This weekend I've set aside again for more craft time. I have an idea about the stocking, and now have a few 80% finished. I have crafting ADD because I cant just start something and work on it til it's finished. I get distracted with a new idea; start that; then go back to the other; work on it; trade off again.....and on and on! It is definitely getting me in the holiday mood though!

am I first to answer???l
I love a live tree but the last few years we travel to celebrate so the tree dies....
I ended up buying a fake one- pretty nice, and I do like that it has lights already but I really love the smell of the live trees! We just do one- with lots of ornaments, and as much as I'd love to have it up early- it usually is done the week before Christmas! (so then I just keep it up halfway through January!!)

PS- many crafts started- none finished yet. Hoping to change that this weekend.

Both my husband and I have family a distance away- we try to travel to them for holidays. I like it, but with 2 kids- carting the loot back and forth is sometimes a pain! I do like visiting family in the North because we don't get much winter weather, and I miss white Christmas'!!
