I know someone who does this in other people's homes with purses. It really amazes me just how many people are really into it and it goes great. By going to other people's houses you are spending just a little in a gift for the hostess but also expanding your market considerably and letting someone else worry about refreshments and clean up.
So I haven't made anything to sell but I would like to make some baby stuff to sell mostly locally and maybe some online. One big thing I wanted to try my hand at was the grocery cart/highchair covers but someone told me that they were patented. I know there are a ton of companies that make similar things and I have no intention on copying any of them, just looking at a cart and going from there. How do I know if I'm in violation?
This question goes beyond just the covers, I would like to check whatever I may do in the future just to be on the safe side. It seems so hard to find resources on this and the patent office website is a huge maze. Where should I even begin?
Two of the greatest things we got were onesies with iron ons of band logos (made with the iron on paper for printers). I know that techically isn't what you asked for, but it is still gender neutral and not too likely to offend mom.
