K Guys------ here is my first pic lol Grin Sorry, I had 'sew' many other things to get out of the way! LMAO Cheesy Tell me what you think.... no action shot yet my girls are at school... Crossing fingers that it fits right! Cheesy It is actually made from an old easter dress that they ripped the pretty tulle on. So I completely tore it apart... and recon'd it to make this: (Sorry if the pics look sheeny. It is made out of satin) Grrr! satin!

Any tips on inserting invisible zippers??? How does this one look?

23  Re: Building a better bra in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions by diannab on: September 17, 2006 06:42:26 AM
K Girls! I rushed through and used some mighty cheap fabric... I am sure my next one will turn out much better Grin Plus I didnt use stretch fabric! LMAO And I used thread that ended up not being very strong.... Messed my machine up by hitting a hook eyelet. LMAO I have to redo one of my straps because I somehow twisted it before serwing it even though I triple checked this! LMAO All in all though, I would say about one hour of hard sewing! Cheesy WoW!  Well here are the pics, overlook the dangling threads and stuff like I said this is my first run.... Next one should look a million times better.

24  Re: Building a better bra in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions by diannab on: September 16, 2006 08:10:54 PM
Okay girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy I have been working on my draft. Still working on it Cheesy I am using a drape and guess method rather than duct tape because I really don't have a bra that fits me the way I want and I think the bra itself would add too much bulk to the outcome.... But ONE (only one) of the Kwiksews came today (side note: Zaftig the other is on back order but I am not sure we want them..... ) YOu will see why when these pics post.... I am posting alterations to the pattern that I made (Which is totally sucking btw) Arrrg! All that is left to sew on is the eye hooks then I will model it and show yall but I think I can do better on my other method! Cheesy Grin Gah, it is taking 20+ mins just to scan in this ripped off tute LMAO And please note, I am note one to normally post altered patterns  but for 12 bux per pattern this is such a rip! Where you see dark coloring and writing (ie Tape here or \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\) it is so you can match up pieces cause I had to use legal size paper... PLEASE NOTE everything here is in the north american measurement system. But from what the bra store told me bras are pretty much universal (for sucking anyways lmao Grin ) I totally feel like this is the Granny pattern and am not sure that even with totally kick ass fabrics would look hot  Angry Cry Angry Undecided Lips sealed LMAO Where here are the pics from the kwik sew 2374 alterations I did ::::::

Also, lil FYI here: USE STRETCHY FABS I Know you think this goes without saying but I used some cheapo fabric for my mock up and it totally blows!  :-*lmao

***

So there is the pics : Here is a brief rundown of what to do

Print out pages and tape appropriate ones together. You are going to cut two of everything, except :Bra Pattern 5 Has the star by the front and two by the end of the pic It looks like one half of a plate hanger /display LMAO. Only need one of it! Stitch Lower Cup to Upper cup aligning notches. Then Stitch the lower cup part to the Plate hanger thangy (LOL) Then repeat for side two. LMAO That is the gist of the instructions that came with the patterns. Leaves a lot to be desired. Also be sure to use interfacing or bra pad for padding. I will try to post my bomb of the pattern tommorow. It is 11 pm here and I wanna go to bed. :*( I have had a gosh awful day and the best way to solve that problem is by going to bed and having a new and better day tomorrow Grin LOL I know I am such a ditzy arse! Cheesy Cheesy Just ask if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them! I should have my mock up ready some time soon and I think it is going to turn out much better....at least it won't look so old ladyish! Grin  Angry Grin

25  Design A Long? (Interior Decorating) Image heavy in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by diannab on: September 14, 2006 07:20:48 AM
Hi, I am wanting to totally change my house up and I am at a loss on how to decorate the place..... I will post pics of my kitchen as it is my first project.  I am very crafty and can sew and create! I have "Flan" paint from Sherwin Williams..... Smiley  It is a very light peachy color..... My counters are so bright blue (and laminate :S) that they don't photograph well....  Angry

so here goes

I now have a better kitchen table...... Cheesy It is a light maple/oak color with white accents! It matches ! LOL Grin

These are the upper kitchen cabinets:

I would like to keep the knobs and decorate around that. They look like the blue willow china patterns that you see.

Here are the windows with the scallop trimming:

I love the scallop detail.... just not sure what to do. I do have curtains I just finished making.... They are the blue willow look too. Cheesy

I am an eclectic person.... I like country, deco and mod designs Cheesy

This is the pantry that sits opposite the windows....... It is floor to ceiling. Smiley

This is the entry from the living room to the kitchen. Partial blue out b/c my hubby didn't want his pic on here Tongue lol

I want the focus of my kitchen to center on the table that is in the eat in part. Cheesy I do need to cover my windows... As from the street you can see straight through them... What do you think about the blue willow china pattern cafe curtains??? Cheesy Smiley
I want to decorate my living room so that it can at least semi flow with the kitchen. The furniture in my living room has to stay I love it! PS The living room will be our next project Cheesy My hubby absolutely hates yellow! (But I can slide with peach! ) Cheesy I want to paint the walls in my living room either cinnamon or burgundy....... I want my furniture to be the focus.

All comments and criticism are appreciated and welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy Grin Grin

28  Re: My First Attempt..*and post* in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by diannab on: August 13, 2006 04:06:31 PM
No need for a tutorial they are really easy........... Lemme draw one up for you.... it's in paint so pardon the crudeness lol Smiley Now cut 2 of these and stitch them together right sides together. to get the shirring effect where you see the lil waves stitch in some elastic making sure not to make it too tight:) Then make another one! You can use a variety of fabrics and even decorate the outside with a lil ribbon over where you put the elastic in. You don't need a casing for this elastic. Just every 2 to 3 spaces stitch it in. This will ensure it isn't too tight on baby's hands. Smiley I used these all the time for my wee ones... but they had hands a lil on the big side Smiley but all the mittens you buy are typically one size fits all......... Sorry if my explanation is a bit confusing... pm me if you have any questions. Smiley I'll be glad to help you any way I can ... OOO OOO I forgot to add blankies to the stuffing list.... and baby hats (also easy to assemble) Cheesy Good luck and all Cheesy PS you will cut an oval with a bit of a triangular flair at the bottom... Think of the balloon cutouts you see made from the die cut machines Cheesy Smiley

Cheesy  Tongue LOL This is a peach color fabric-- I am not sure what kind of fabric it is I just know that if you aren't careful it can become stiff after washing (if you don't machine dry).  I am so proud of my self! It is a size 6x capri set that falls about mid calf on my lil girl.  As soon as I get a chance I will post a pic of my lil Kam kam wearin' it Cheesy Please all criticism and comments welcome!
