1  Re: save our earth swap gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by atomeve on: October 23, 2007 08:08:50 AM
I got my package from megrenae a few weeks ago but have not been able to post.  She sent me two great cloth GROWcery bags, a cool cloth pouch and a booklet of eco friendly recipes for green cleaners.  My favorite, favorite, favorite was a crochet bag made from plastic shopping bags ... VERY cool!

Thanks Megrenae!  And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get it posted up to share!

2  My First Quilt (Yippee) in Quilting: Completed Projects by atomeve on: June 29, 2007 06:55:19 PM
My mom became an addict a few years ago.  Now whenever I go home for a visit, I root around in her fabric stash for a quickie project.  I figured I could make a go at a quilt.  Enough friends were having babies that I figured a small quilt could find a good home (and I was tired of knitting baby snugglers)

Turns out I didn't invent this quilt style ... though I probably should have figured out this was NOT my idea first.  It is a string quilt made out of tiny, girly print cottons and backed with more of the same.  The batting is thin cotton and it's tied with thick cotton yarn.

It's pretty small, about 2 1/2 feet x 3 feet.  But it only took a few hours.  Unfortunately, this seems like an excuse to buy more fabric.  I'm gonna need a second job Wink

Enjoy!

3  I had the best of intentions ... in The Swap Gallery by atomeve on: June 29, 2007 06:31:19 PM
When I started this I thought I'd knit it out ... but I am SO full of it.  I should have known that would never happen, especially not after I saw the goodies sticking out.  Besides ... it smelled really good.  Here is the ball and I'll post pics of the goodies later.  I found chunky needles somewhere near the middle and got distracted by them Smiley  I'll have to wait until my pile of loot is complete again
