71  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: knitscene's central park hoodie on: September 27, 2006 03:59:54 PM
I got the yarn for mine. Cheap purple simply soft tweed. Plus I don't have enough. I need to head back to A.C. Moore on Saturday when they're having 25% off all the yarn to see if they've restocked the purple.... I can't wait to start on this! Every time I see another finished one I want to start.... but first I have a couple projects I should finish...

I've got the body about half done or so... I'll try and remember to post the picture I took last night later. Next time I'll use a chunkier yarn, but I was kind of limited in choices since this is a present, it had to be purple, and I was at A.C. Moore. Plus it has to be done in about a week.

But, I'm actually following the pattern. Ha. Except for doing seed stitch instead of garter, which I do for pretty much everything.

Question: Do you really need the 32" circulars for this pattern or could you use smaller ones? I keep considering buying this pattern but can't justify buying new needles if I can just use the ones I already have...

If no one's mentioned it (I don't think they have) check out here:

It's run by a plus size model, and they're having a big inventory sale!

I just happened upon the site while looking at pictures of the model and remembered seeing this thread!

I'm dying to make one of those!! I'm sort of new to sewing (I grew up with a family full of professionals, but I didn't really get into it) but I think I could handle it with minimal help. And I love seeing how flattering it is on those of us with curvier figures! Smiley So you're dress is so pretty!
