I am making a red wool sweater for my sweet DS (his request!) and need to find elbow patches appropriate for 5 year old elbows.  I am so afraid of him felting or piling the elbows of his sweater just being his 5 year old self.

Does anyone know how to make elbow patches, or where to buy them?

Any and all ideas would be appreciated!

Okay, I went to the thrift store and scored a bag of yarn (Penimaid Lainette, ever heard of it ?), a mostly completed knit skirt (it fits!) knitted on size 3 needles, and two size three circular needles.

I can't figure out what brand circs they are and I really like them.  They are all metal and the cord is some kind of small coil, but its a smooth coil if that makes sense.  The yarn doesn't get caught up on them.

Since the only circs I've ever knit with were clover bamboo, susan bates, and boye I know they aren't those...

Can anyone solve this mystery?
 

I am wanting to make the dress from Baby Knits for beginners for my DD for Easter, but alas we are on a budget and can only afford cheapo wool and cotton yarn from discount stores.

Does anyone know of a non-synthetic yarn that knits up in 25sts and 34rows to 4in square st st using size 3 needles?

I know that Debbie Bliss Wool/cotton is discontinued too, so that makes it crazy to find anywhere.

ANY and all help would be appreciated!!!

I know, I know...Its been discussed before but I just can't "get"  ???how to seam the One Skein Wonder. 

I know, I'm such a goober .

Do I fold it over by the faux raglan seaming? 
I feel like I can't start the seed stitches without knowing where it actually goes.  Where do these frickin' seams meet? 

Would anyone here be kind enough to help this idiot (me)?
