2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / So, I was watching the Real Housewives of NY... on: June 26, 2010 01:42:24 PM
when they gave one of the girls a pair of pearl wrist restraints for a bridal shower gift. Awesome, right? But I wasn't happy with any of the ones that popped up im my google search, so:

It was really simple. i've never made any jewelry before, but I went to joanns and they had a display called Pearls and chains so I thought it was a sign. Basically, it's a length of chain in the middle, and connected to 4 three strands of smaller chain with pearls, and then 4 lengths of velvet ribbon to tie it all up with. Instant gratification. But very hard to take a picture of. They look much nicer in person.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Tea Towel Stamping Tutorial on: April 20, 2010 04:31:39 AM
They are really pretty. Much faster than embroidering them like usual. Smiley Just as a note if you use normal acrylic paint like folk art, let dry and then set by placing a vinegar soaked paper towel on top of the paint you want to set and then ironing, your work will hold up in the wash. Usually this is much less expensive then buying fabric paint.

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentines Day gifts for husband in military training?? on: February 09, 2010 05:51:29 AM
DO NOT SEND NAKED PICTURES TO BASIC! Maybe if it's like ranger school, or something like that but naked pictures and basic are a bad call. Even naked pictures overseas are a bad call. Not only can other people sometimes see them, they also can steal them and use them, if you know what I mean. Also, anything embarrassing, like the boxers, will be drill sgt. ammo, so think about that before you send.
A valentine's day rain check of what you will do for him when he graduates could be cool. Also depending on the rules, you can send care pkgs, just know what you can and can't send. Cookies he can share are always a hit. Even though you want to make your dude feel special, you should remeber his buddies, too. Happy vs jealous platoon members will make your boyfriend's life better.
Pictures are good. Cute Pictures, happy pictures, but just think about what you and your guy are comfortable with before you send.
Don't be "that" girlfriend. Cause there's always one who sends something that is against the rules and can have negative impact on your signifigant other.
