1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Black and White Bag on: May 03, 2007 09:06:19 AM
I was actually just playing around, sewing together black and white strips...not really knowing what I was going to do.  Ended up with this!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / I need help...Doll Skin??? on: April 16, 2007 08:51:59 AM
Someone I'm swapping with, who lives in Norway, would like some "Doe Suede" doll skin...as much as I want to make some fabric dolls, I just never seem to have the time to work them in; therefore, I have NO IDEA about 'doll skin'...I just thought they were mostly made of linen.

Anyway-she cannot get that over there, and would like me to get some for her.  I've been searching the net, but cannot seem to find what she is wanting.

So I thought I would come to the experts!

Does anyone know what this is, or what she might be looking for?  AND...where can I find it?  Is it something I can get at JoAnn's, Hancocks, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, quilt stores???
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / My very first bracelets! on: April 10, 2007 08:46:07 AM
I'm a total bracelet whore, and spend tons of money on them.  I finally figured I should probably try making some on my own.

This one is for me...

This one I made for a swap...it was a matchbox swap, and the theme was 'By the Sea'...

I'm working on one this week for my daughter's birthday...I'll post that one in a few days...
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Bumblebee and Ladybug Apron on: April 10, 2007 07:30:42 AM
I made this apron for a 'mini apron swap'-it was a swap for our kids.

This is the whole apron...

This is a shot of the pocket detail...

It reverses to the Ladybug Apron...

Close up detail of the front pocket...
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tote Bag for Portable Projects on: February 05, 2007 07:17:16 PM

This was made for a blogger friend who sent me a bunch of ribbons and buttons.  It started out as just a needlebook, because that is all she wanted in return, but it grew...into a good sized tote bag with several pockets inside, a needlebook and pincushion, and just some other stuff I threw in.

Yellowladybug-Thanks!  yes, that was it!
Hopefully this works now...
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Christmas Pillows from Target Towels (pictures!) on: December 19, 2006 08:11:33 PM
When I saw the red, sage green and tan kitchen towel, I knew it had to be made into something that matched my family room, because the colors matched so perfectly.  So I decided on a pillow.  It is perfect, because all you have to do is fold it in half, sew all around just leaving the opening for turning right side out and stuffing, then sew up that little hole.  And Voila!  (perfect easy and cheap gift idea, too!)

So, this is a whole towel, and one already folded in half and sewn.  (Yeah, I made a few of these!)

And here it is, all finished up!

Cute, cheap and easy...can't do much better than that! lol!
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tote Bag out of Target Kitchen Towel on: December 19, 2006 08:02:53 PM
Target has some really cute Christmas/Holiday kitchen stuff this year, so I thought I would take advantage of it.  I've made pillows too, but, this is the tote bag that I made out of a kitchen towel...it's for my son's teacher.
Started out with the towel, and just folded it in half...makes a great size tote bag that will hold everything...and sewed up the sides.

Made the straps and lining...which is actually very cute also, so the tote is reversable...sewed it all up, and this is what I got.

And here it is reversed!  When the holidays are over, she'll still be able to use the bag.

This is so easy!  The bad part is when people think you actually made the whole thing, and you have to say, "No, it was a towel I bought at Target."  lol!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Reversable Paisley Tote Bag on: November 11, 2006 10:24:55 AM

This was the first reversable tote bag I made, because I love this paisley fabric so much!  The colors are perfect, and when I did the outside, I decided I wanted the inside to be usable for the outside also, so that I could have 2 bags with the same fabric but different looks.  So this is what turned out.
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Reversable Tote Bag on: November 11, 2006 10:16:52 AM

OK-just ignore the skirt...or not, but I know it goes in clothing, it's just the only picture I have with that tote bag in it...

I made this for my daughter...it's a reversable tote bag to match the skirt, and I thought it came out really cute!

<edited by jMi so the 2nd picture would show Smiley]
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little Girls Skirt and Matching ToteBag on: November 11, 2006 10:11:08 AM

This is a pair of blue jeans that I turned into a skirt.  Of course it just had to have a matching tote bag...or two (lol!) so I made the tote bag reversable.
