I was actually just playing around, sewing together black and white strips...not really knowing what I was going to do.  Ended up with this!

2  My very first bracelets! in Beads: Completed Projects by SanAntonioLauri on: April 10, 2007 08:46:07 AM
I'm a total bracelet whore, and spend tons of money on them.  I finally figured I should probably try making some on my own.

This one is for me...

This one I made for a swap...it was a matchbox swap, and the theme was 'By the Sea'...

I'm working on one this week for my daughter's birthday...I'll post that one in a few days...

7  Re: Let's make pincushions! in Craftalongs by SanAntonioLauri on: February 12, 2007 04:06:25 PM
This one I gave to a friend who is not from Texas, so, I used some fabric with Bluebonnets on it.  The back is vintage chenille.

8  Tote Bag for Portable Projects in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SanAntonioLauri on: February 05, 2007 07:17:16 PM

This was made for a blogger friend who sent me a bunch of ribbons and buttons.  It started out as just a needlebook, because that is all she wanted in return, but it grew...into a good sized tote bag with several pockets inside, a needlebook and pincushion, and just some other stuff I threw in.

Yellowladybug-Thanks!  yes, that was it!
Hopefully this works now...

9  Christmas Pillows from Target Towels (pictures!) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by SanAntonioLauri on: December 19, 2006 08:11:33 PM
When I saw the red, sage green and tan kitchen towel, I knew it had to be made into something that matched my family room, because the colors matched so perfectly.  So I decided on a pillow.  It is perfect, because all you have to do is fold it in half, sew all around just leaving the opening for turning right side out and stuffing, then sew up that little hole.  And Voila!  (perfect easy and cheap gift idea, too!)

So, this is a whole towel, and one already folded in half and sewn.  (Yeah, I made a few of these!)

And here it is, all finished up!

Cute, cheap and easy...can't do much better than that! lol!

10  Tote Bag out of Target Kitchen Towel in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by SanAntonioLauri on: December 19, 2006 08:02:53 PM
Target has some really cute Christmas/Holiday kitchen stuff this year, so I thought I would take advantage of it.  I've made pillows too, but, this is the tote bag that I made out of a kitchen towel...it's for my son's teacher.
Started out with the towel, and just folded it in half...makes a great size tote bag that will hold everything...and sewed up the sides.

Made the straps and lining...which is actually very cute also, so the tote is reversable...sewed it all up, and this is what I got.

And here it is reversed!  When the holidays are over, she'll still be able to use the bag.

This is so easy!  The bad part is when people think you actually made the whole thing, and you have to say, "No, it was a towel I bought at Target."  lol!
