11  Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" in Knitting: Completed Projects by Illanna24 on: November 24, 2004 08:44:26 PM
I made the hourglass sweater but I haven't blocked it yet. I'll add pictures once I do.

Here is a picture of a "Kim's Hat" that I just finished today! I used Lobster Pot yarn from www.purlsoho.com

Here is a closeup of the hat before the pompoms:

I found the tag from the cotton I used- It was called Fantasy Naturele. They have a LOT of colors and a LOT of variegated colors. I used 2 different colors held together throughout. You can see them below.

One of them i did with a pink and a beige held together. The other one i did with black and a variegated (purple, pink and plue) held together. That one kind of looks like a hologram.

I used one skein of each color for each bag, so a total of 2 skeins per bag. I used size 10 circular needles.

I made a cell phone holder for the black/variegated bag using the pattern that is ALSO in SnB. I made the bag a little more shallow so that I would have enough yarn to do that. Then i attached the cell phone holder with a knitted rope-like thing. I didn't know i-cord at the time, so I just cast on about 15 stitches or so, and then binded them off.

I got my handles and lining at wal-mart.

This was SO fun and SO quick. These bags get the most compliments out of everything else i made, and each one took 1 night (about 6 hours)

This is my first hat project ever! I did it exactly like the pattern said for size small and it fit perfect! It was really easy too. I changed the colors because this was all i had. That's me modeling it  Wink

14  My first duct tape purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Illanna24 on: June 07, 2004 11:23:43 AM
This is the first duct tape purse i ever made! I used black duct tape for the whole thing from Ace Hardware and Plastic Packing Tape also from Ace Hardware. The pictures came from a Jewish Calendar. One side is supposed to be a picture of Israel (i think) and the other side is a celebration of the Jewish holiday Sukkot. I am very excited about this. Please give me feedback so i can improve my next one!

Illanna
