1  Babymouse Dress for Children's Book Celebration in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Sarad on: May 21, 2014 05:27:58 AM
It's been a while since I've posted anything, but I'm super proud of this, so I wanted to share! Every year, the Houston Public Library has a Children's Book Celebration. This was our 5th year, and our author was Jennifer L. Holm, who wrote the Babymouse books. I was the head of the committee this year, so I decided to go all out by making a Babymouse dress! I used an old pattern I had, used white denim, and used bias tape around the edges to make it look more like it was drawn. The pink heart is made out of felt. I did my hair in meatballs, because I didn't have time to find/make white mouse ears, although it's hard to see the top of my head. Enjoy!

2  Not Bad in Needlework: Completed Projects by Sarad on: March 11, 2013 02:25:06 PM
I've really gotten into internet memes lately, and here's one I did of the Obama "Not Bad" face. Just simple black thread on white fabric

I'm super proud of the back, too! I love the houndstooth fabric I backed it with Smiley

6  Fallout's Vault Boy! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Sarad on: July 30, 2011 02:47:30 PM
My boyfriend is a big fan of the video game Fallout, so I stitched him up this Vault Boy just cuz!

It was easy to make; I just did a Google search for Vault Boy, printed it out, and stitched over the paper. Then when I finished I tore all of the paper off.

I got a fantastic package from QueenNinjaMonkey full of awesome crafty goodness. Warning! Lots of pics!
This is what I saw when I opened the box:

First I unwrapped this cute luchador needle punch! My boyfriend said it's cute when he saw it Smiley

Then these 2 cute skele stuffies from my pinterest. Sorry the crop is weird (I had trouble getting the picture to be small enough) but believe me, they're perfect!

Then I pulled out this amazing hand painted pillow. The bowtie and flower are 3d. I pretend they're me and my novio (boyfriend), if we were skeletons, lol.

This is the fabric she used on the back, which is from my pinterest. The skulls glow in the dark, I believe!

Amazing handpainted zombie nesting dolls! I can't imagine how long these took to paint! They were on my pinterest too, from something QueenNinjaMonkey did in a previous swap. I love them so much! There's an even littler one too that didn't make it into the pic, as I missed it in the box.

Then I opened this cute necklace. I'm not too much of a jewelry person, but I do like this necklace!

Bleh, blurry picture coming up, but it is some awesome homemade almond cookie body scrub! 2 containers! I already used some, and I love how smooth it makes my skin!

Cute woodland creature fabric covered magnets!

Extras! Cute lucky cat

And yumma candy, a kidrobot Futurama character that was in a blind pack (Zap Branigan!) Zombie Felties book, birdhouse box, lavender vanilla flower shaped bath confetti, chocolate cupcake lipgloss, and owl notepad.

Thanks for the best swap EVER, QueenNinjaMonkey! When's the next round, so we can swap again? Cheesy

I got the cutest bird matchbox from ChristieAnn! Sorry the pictures aren't too great, but I like how you can see the notes on the bird! The heart beads spell out "TWEET" I like the way it looks on top of the shredded paper, just like a little nest!

The contents are AWESOME! I love the Paul Frank sticker of Julius on a scooter (there were actually 2 of them), the paw print brads (there were 4 of them), the birdy stickers, the amazing bone skull beads, and the little skeleton guy.

Thanks again ChristieAnn! Sorry it took a while to get these pics posted!

9  Lichtenstein's Girl with Hair Ribbon in Pompoms! in CHALLENGE 61 ENTRIES by Sarad on: April 07, 2011 11:56:51 PM
This is my first challenge entry ever! Lichtenstein's Girl with Hair Ribbon. I did the benday dots with pompoms! The first image used to be sideways, and I figured out how to fix it in Craftster's photo hosting, but now it's squished  Undecided

The canvas is really big (about 5 feet tall), and the pom poms are 5mm.

As requested, here's some closeups of the pompoms to show the texture. First the eye:

Now the lips:

And EXTREME CLOSE UP to show texture the best (again the lips):

And one more pic of the whole shebang:

I'm so proud of it! It's probably going up in the bedroom  Grin

I got this awesome sugar skull embroidery from thedish! The boyfriend even loves it (and he's not easy to impress, especially with crafts), so it's hanging above the light switch in our entry hall! I love it!
