61  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I felted, I felted!!! on: September 22, 2006 05:46:27 PM
Oooooo!  I am so excited!  My first felted project!  I'm posting it here because they started out as crochet.  Nothing too big, just infant beanies and a really cute pair of mary janes.  Not sure what I'll do with them yet...  Here's a pic!

Here's the two hats and the shoes.

A better pic of the shoes(I just love how they turned out!).

I was really nervous about felting them(so nervous that I forgot to take a before pic *slaps forehead*).  I put them in my washer and left the top open so when it stopped agitating I'd hear it.  I added a little bit of liquid detergent and 1T of baking soda.  After just two cycles of washing(one right after another, I checked on them in between) I was happy with the results...  It was so easy!  Must do more felting...
62  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / your opinions please... on: September 16, 2006 09:21:48 AM
Hey fellow craftsters!

I have been crafting my brains out as of late to keep myself busy and out of trouble.  I do a lot of it while I'm at work(preschool teacher, nap time is the best!).  My co-workers and parents have all commented that I should be selling the stuff I make.  I'd love your opinions...  I've made a few hats and some "shoes" for my daughter(as well as a ton of other projects, these are just quickies).  These are all my own patterns.

two hats, both sized for maybe 12-18 mos?  Chunky weight yarn, each only took a hour or two...

Crochet Mary Janes, size 12 mos?  Again chunky weight yarn, only took an hour or two

my daughter modeling them...
63  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first bag!! on: September 11, 2006 05:32:39 PM
So, I'm not much of a sewer, but thanks to the tute that frogz posted, I am now the proud owner of a laptop messanger bag.  Instead of posting a ton of pics here, I made a slideshow.  Here's the link:

64  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / quilt for my Nana on: September 10, 2006 11:32:58 AM
I made this quilt for my Nana a few(four I think...) years ago.  It was a Christmas gift.

It's only my second quilt.  I love to craft in general.  I've made two large quilts(this and one for my son) and two baby quilts(for my daughter).  This quilt will now go on my daughter's bed(once she's out of the crib, next year or so...).  My Grampa gave it back to me when Nana passed away.  Quilting is good like that, family heirlooms that are passed on and on and on....
65  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Boy Beanie on: September 06, 2006 03:31:58 PM
Here's my boy beanie(my husband refused to look at the camera, so here's the back of his head as well)!

I'm making ten of these for a swap.  I've already finished seven!  They work up really quickly and, so far, I've gotten a lot of positive feed back about them...  Wheeeeee~
66  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / DORMANT: Star Baby Blanket~Along (w/pattern link) on: August 19, 2006 07:33:19 PM
So I'm going to be starting a star shaped baby blanket pretty soon.  My brother just found out he and his wife are expecting their first(YAY! They've been trying for three years!).  Anyone want to join me?  The pattern is here:

http://www.angelfire.com/va3/heartfeltangels/littlestarafghan.html

I went out and bought six skeins of Lion Brand Chenille Thick and Quick; two in Scarlet, two in Antique White, and two in Royal Blue.  My brother is in the army(hence the red, white, and blue) and they don't know what they're having yet.  I've been dying for a reason to use this super soft and cuddly yarn.  So if there is anyone out there that would like to stitch this up with me, I'll most likely start this week.

Have Fun!
67  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / my first amigurumi... on: August 13, 2006 03:16:26 PM
Ok, so I know this is the Completed projects board, but...  I finally tried my hand at an amigurumi.  I think she needs eyes and maybe a little skirt?  I'd love your opinions!

Thanks!
68  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Mini Froggie Bag *so cute* on: August 12, 2006 09:27:40 AM
Hey all, I found this pattern on another board and just had to try it.  Whaddya think?

the front of my froggie, he's all eyes!  The red is a drawstring "tounge."

and from the side, so you can see the body.  I can't wait to fill his belly with change.

It was a quick project.  I made him with lion kitchen cotton from my stash.  I think I'll make my neice a pink one next...

69  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / labor of love... on: August 02, 2006 06:18:05 PM
Here's a blanket I made for my neice.  It took me the entire nine months that her mother(my sister) was pregnant.  I was very happy to see it finished...

And, from another thread, the halter dress that I made for my daughter, with her in it.

I'm hoping to branch out past the traditional crochet blankets, hence why I am here!   Grin  I'm getting a ton of ideas, thanks to all for the inspirations!
70  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / first post and first original design... on: July 31, 2006 05:32:13 PM
Hey all!

So here's a picture of a halter dress I made for my six month old daughter(as well of a few other projects of mine).  I sorta pulled it out of left field after searching for a pattern online and not finding anything.  Not bad if I do say so myself.  I'll "fly by the seat of my pants" more often...  I can try to recall what I did if anyone is interested, but I make no promises.  I stink at pattern writting.  Anyway, comments are always appreaciated(critique and praise alike, I'm learning here).

I'll try to get a picture of her in it tomorrow, she's sleeping now...

These are some "stash busters" that I'll donate to a local charity.  Mostly for preemies.

And after reading a bunch of posts, I'll be buying The Happy Hooker...  Yes, yes, yes, I can hardly wait! Grin
