11  Winter's A-Comin' in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by glittergirl94 on: November 02, 2008 07:25:52 AM
And rather than spend a small fortune on mittens... I made some... out of an old outgrown sweatshirt... with sleeves so they would actually stay on my toddler!  The entire story, and tute, can be found on my craft blog.  Go check it out if you'd like!  Here are a few pictures...

Thanks for looking!

12  Sucess! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by glittergirl94 on: October 13, 2008 09:57:02 AM
So many firsts were conquered this morning!  First zipper, first knit garment, first long sleeved garment...

Back.  I'll post action pictures later when she's home.

I used New Look Pattern # 6770.  Joann's had a sale...  =)

Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave!

13  Kimono Dress and Pants in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by glittergirl94 on: October 12, 2008 05:46:14 PM
I finally got around to diving into that pile of fabric I picked up at Joann's a few weeks ago... killer sale!!!  Anyway, here's today's result:

I think she likes it...  I used New Look Pattern # 6333.  Went together very smoothly...  making the bias tape was the most time consuming thing.  Here's a closer shot so you can really see the pink fabric:

Don't mind the deer-in-the-headlights look, or the leftover dinner(chili) on her cheeks...  or the huge tangle of curls on her head...  Can you tell where Mum's attention was most of the afternoon/evening?

Thanks for looking!  Comments and questions are always appreciated!

16  Olive Branch Yoga Hoodie Along? in Knitalongs by glittergirl94 on: September 07, 2008 12:15:50 PM
So I'm finally getting around to knitting myself this:

It seems to be simple enough pattern, and nicely inexpensive to purchase at webs.com!  Anyone want to join me?  Post progress pics and such?

17  Re: "Harry Potter & the World of Knitting" KAL! in Knitalongs by glittergirl94 on: September 07, 2008 12:12:16 PM
Well I noticed this KAL a while back and never did post when I started this...

and I forgot to post once I finished it, but this thread was the inspiration.  So here's my finished Weasley Sweater, and a link to the free pattern!  Very easy knit, this was my first sweater and I've been knitting for less than a year now.  Thanks for looking!

I think this will be the last dress for a bit... a week or so anyway...  I just love the results!  And a big, huge thank you to Vegbee and her tute!  I used her math formula for the twirl skirt part...

Can you believe I only paid five bucks for the materials for this dress!!!  Woo!!!

Thanks for looking all!  I'll post action shots ASAP!

*edited to add action shots!*

19  The Cutest Skirt Ever!!! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by glittergirl94 on: August 17, 2008 12:16:53 PM
So I needed something a little different to sew after going on an A-Line Dress bindge... 3 Sleeved Dresses, 2 Sleeveless Jumpers and 2 Pairs of Pants...  whew...  So I went perusing the internet for something fun to make for my daughter and found this.

I used a ribbon drawstring instead of elastic and just some fabric from my stash(I've been saving this paisley for something special...).  My first time making anything ruffly...  Super easy tute if you're wanting one for your own little one... or yourself.   Wink

Here's a picture of a dress I made this morning that I didn't upload into the other batch of dresses I made...

Thanks for looking!!!

20  Dresses for my Little Bird *edited to add more FO's* in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by glittergirl94 on: August 15, 2008 03:25:23 PM
I spent the day sewing... well... half the day anyway.  Here are the fruits of my labor:

I had originally bought this fabric for a purse for myself... but it just screamed for my daughter.  Just a simple A-line jumper... my first time using bias tape - SO EASY!!!

This fabric I just had in my stash...  I can't remember what I got it for.  Another A-line, but this one is reversible...

See!  Nothing fancy, and I would have posted an action shot, but they're still too big for her(I'm working on her winter wardrobe).  Thanks for looking!

I finished a pair of pants today...

She insisted on wearing them right away.  I'm sooo in love with this fabric!  I also made two more dresses today...

Bias Tape is my friend...  =D  I learned to check the pattern's seam allowances... this one fits better.

My first sleeved item!  Sleeves are a pain!  But I'm pleased with the outcome... and so was The Little Bird.  Thanks for all the comments everyone!
