1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / popsicle stick pencil holder on: August 21, 2004 06:29:15 PM
im sure im not the only one who made those popsicle stick pencil holders as a wee child.  well a couple of weeks ago, my mom was cleaning out the craft closet and i saw a big box of those sticks.. so being the bored craftster i am, got some glue and popped this baby out. i feel like a mega nerd for it, but i actually use it!

i tried to take the picture at an angle so you could see how i made it.

but there are soooo many ways you can change it to your liking, and hey, in the process of making one, you might even get nostalgic.

seriously though, if you dont like the wood theme, you could always paint it and slap a stencil or some polka dots on there.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / bandana pillows on: August 21, 2004 06:22:08 PM
this was my first craftster inspired project. i viewed a thread a while ago and it suggested this.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v73/s8n8mygrandma/bandana.jpg

this is the front and back of what they look like when theyre done. in real life, theyre red, but with pink carpet the picture was too intense and i made it black and white so hopefully you can see it better.

all you have to do is bring all 4 corners together and pin the sides. be sure to match by the pattern ON the material and not by the shape of the material itself, otherwise the 'X' shape on the back will be crooked.

after pinning, just sew and stuff.. and viola! a bandana pillow is yours.
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / my weezer and costello stencils on: August 21, 2004 06:09:25 PM
who wouldnt want weezer or elvis costello on their shirt?

heres my finished product:

the coloring on my digital camera is kinda crazy, i apologize. its a lot darker than in real life. i also made the mistake of not mixing medium in with my paint, so its kinda cracking. also, the shirts are pretty thin. i got em at penny's on sale a couple months ago. but in case you want one of those lovelies as your own, here are my stencils.

the man himself, elvis with his guitar. i did fix all the islands on that one.

and the boys from weezer. there are some islands. for instance, the 'e's' and in one or two other places. dont ask me why is loaded so small. i suppose if you have problems making it larger, you could PM me and ill send the normal sized one.

if you end up using them id love to see how yours turn out!
