1  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: SNBHH crochetalong on: October 23, 2007 04:51:56 AM
I love the butterflies on the sweet pea Smiley

I counted across and just made sure I had the same number on each side before starting the centre part of the collar. It is still sitting in a heap waiting for me to finish the edging. It's been a bit warm to sit with something resembling a mini-afghan in my lap to do the edging Smiley

I think mine had that a little, but not too noticeable once it was sewed up. I have had a little bit of a saga with it...

...I forgot what size I was making...

I was doing all these rows about 200 miles long each for the arms, merrily heading for 42 rows (NOT the 30-something I needed!) and wondering why I seemed to have fallen into a crochet black hole. The arms started looking worryingly large. I persevered through HOURS of GSP. I did the neck, I did the fronts, even though it looked a bit like an afghan at this point.

I sewed it up, and the arms were HUGE. I could fit my leg into the arms; I could fit both arms into one, I could fit my dog into the arm quite comfortably (he's a chihuahua, but still...). Seriously frighteningly huge. I didn't want to go through making the fronts again, so I pulled out the rows at the bottom of the arms, and then sewed the back together again. Apparently it looks okay from the back when I have it on, even though there is a noticeable line. Oh well, not like I'll be wearing it until next year (yay, summer is coming in fast!)

I'm about halfway through the edging, and I'll post photos once I finish it (it may go on hiatus so I can finish my challenge pillowcases).

They're very cute - I love the piggie particularly!

Does your hippo fall forward? I made one, and he keeps on tipping onto his snout. Wondering if it was just me Smiley

Hooray, I am so glad that the prize isn't just restricted to the US anymore! Thanks, whoever wrangled that!

I had started anyway, and my research has been rewarding, even if I don't finish the pillows. This design challenge has been fun Smiley

I dunno. I did a bigger size, and to be quite frank, didn't count particularly Wink I think I am one or two ch1 spaces different to the pattern too.

This is, as everyone else has said, a totally brilliant, inspired idea with a great tute. Best of luck in the competition Smiley
