1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Post Secret Swap IV Gallery!!! on: April 18, 2008 12:02:13 PM
Also, if I counted correctly, I think all my secrets have been shared. I am waiting on 2 more cards and I am guessing they will be here soon.

It felt good to get some of those secrets out. Thanks all!

I hit the mother lode between yesterday and today:

Doing embroidery turns me on.

I wish I had friends and on the back... to chill, talk, shop believe, want... live with

im afrade of homeless people

I live in my bra on the back I wear one all the time and I love it. No bra-burning here!

Every time I meet an obnoxiously arrogant man, I hope he will fall for me. Just so that I can turn him down. . .(of course it has never happened)

I'm addicted to myspace a place for whores

I am so two-faced.

I apologize for the somewhat poor photo quality, the camera is getting pretty old.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Puppy Pop Art on: March 11, 2008 08:06:55 PM
It is pretty simple. I just applied 2 layers of decoupage glue (mod podge), let them dry, and then traced out the image and painted it in with acrylic paint only, and once that layer dried, I applied a final coat (or 2) of mod podge to seal it.

I have been needing some artwork for my guest bedroom when I was inspired by an article in Martha Stewart's magazine about her show. A fabric designer, whose name unfortunately escapes me, covered a canvas in fabric and then painted a bird over it in acrylic paint. I really liked the color combinations and decided to try it using one of my favorite subjects, my dog.

The project was very easy, the only problem I experienced was a shedding foam brush pooping on the canvas as I covered it with layers of decoupage glue.

Here are my two pieces:

the bubbles are not as bad as this picture implies

and together

I really enjoyed making these and look forward to doing some more. Any questions, let me know!

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knit It! magazine on: January 26, 2008 07:02:20 AM
from what I gathered on the LionBrand website, the magazine was a joint venture between them and Better Homes & Gardens. It was a magazine that came out once a year, and the most recent issue I found was in 2005.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: How do you display your cards? on: December 07, 2007 09:49:09 AM
my Grandmom gave me a stuffed Christmas tree that has slits in it for the cards. You can't see all the cards, but it does look nice. If I can remember when I get home, I'll take a picture.
