I'm going as a 1918-ish suffragette. It's based off of the lovely teens outfit Koshka made (here). I'm making a pleated burgundy skirt and I am going to be making a Middy shirt in off white with burgundy cuffs and collar. I need to finish sewing the waistband to the skirt, hem it, sew on snaps and eyes and hooks. And cut and sew the middy.

Very nice. I really like the wood and black together. Maybe adding some white to the table or some black to the white chairs would make them blend in a little better? But that's just me!

The white chairs are going to be refinished to match but I didn't have the time to do it just yet.

I had one of these! Got it at a yard sale when I was eighteen.
If I recall correctly, you put it on and snap up the front and back, then have someone pull the bottom down as hard as possible, which starts to f...... What is the name of the dress form? I've been trying to find one just because I like vintage sewing stuff, but I don't remember the name of it. I thought it was My Double, but when I google that I get a different type of dress form. Sad
The box is labled "My Double" Dress Form From Dritz. But the modern version that Dritz has is also call My Double so it just gives you all the modern ones. Thanks for the details. It will help a lot.

My grandma just gave me her vintage dress form and sadly the instructions on how to use it are missing. It's the kind with mesh. Like this:

I was wondering if anyone has the manual for this one and would be willing to share it. Or knew where to find one online, preferably free.

Thanks.

I finished refinishing my old kitchen table an thought I would post it. Sadly I don't have a before picture but it was pretty worn and beat up after 20 years of abuse from two kids. The legs and under part have 2 coats of black satin paint and the top has two coats of Antique Walnut Satin stain and two coats of a poly-something finish.

It finally arrived last night. And she loves it. She sent me some pics of her putting coins in it. She can't wait to show her friends her new vulva...coin purse that is. Wink

Thanks for all the compliments.

On the right hand side there should be a little plaque with a serial number that you can look up on the singer site.
For one letter prefixes:
http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_1letter.html
For two letter prefixes:
http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_2letter.html

It is a very lovely Singer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.
