Thanks for the hair love, man...I cut it myself and it's usually a hot tranny mess.

I actually used this link (http://readymademag.com/blog/2008/06/13/diyf-do-it-yourself-friday-make-gods-eye-jewelry/) from Readymade. They were kind of time consuming, but in a good way. Great project for a rainy day spent watching old movies.

I made this mobile out of toothpicks, embroidery floss and a brass ring I had for god knows what reason. I am incredibly happy with how it turned out.

Me wearing it as a necklace.

So what do you think?
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: three advent calendars i am ridicuously proud of on: November 28, 2007 05:14:02 PM
Cool. I especially like the two tin/container ones. I would have to put numbers on mine though. Much more permanent than my quick/last minute one. This is something which I could probably actually get done.

I was going to put numbers on them, but I ran out of money and didn't like the way it looked when I wrote the numbers...I guess I'm going for an abstract advent calendar Smiley
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / three advent calendars i am ridicuously proud of on: November 28, 2007 11:50:54 AM
I decided this year I would make advent calendars for the women in my family (grandma, mom, and sister) and here is the finished result:

my grandma's calendar, idea taken from http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=12609&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=advent

my sister's calendar

the tins have magnets to the back and are supposed to go on a fridge

and finally, my mom's

hers also has magnets on the back and are these little plastic boxes I got from the container store
