11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ysolda Elijah aka Peanut on: November 08, 2008 11:07:51 AM
Hi All!
I made the Ysolda Elijah. I loved how it turned out.
It was a birthday present for my handsome nephew Isaiahs' 1st birthday.
He was a big hit at the party and has been renamed Peanut. He now enjoys story time with his best friend Isaiah and taking naps in the crib
Thanks for looking!

I hope I did this right Smiley
I'm knitting them on the circulars but with different balls of yarn, so I'm knitting them sep. but together on 1 needle.
I have a habit of knitting 1 sleeve for a sweater and either knitting the other sleeve but they're not identical or I knit one sleeve and drop the project.
I tried to take a good picture of the cable that will go up the back of my leg, it sort of worked?

Hi Everyone!
It's a little slow going since I'm knitting both legs at the same time on circulars.
Question: I've never posted a picture on here - does anyone use photo bucket?
I want to show you all the progress Smiley
Thanks for your help!

Hi Everyone!
I got my yarn and started making my swatch.
Size 1 needles, no good, 2 no good, 3,4,5
FINALLY! Size 6 needles + 25 sts = 4 inches so I don't think these will take me too long to make?
Also, I was thinking of shortening them so they come just above the knee. I think I would wear them more if they were (not in the granny way) knee highs. I do think I will be incorping a cable though (instead of the holes at the side for ribbon)
I have 2 birthday parties to go to this weekend but I am hoping to really start this Sunday.
I will post pics next saturday of the progress. Have a great weekend and week everyone! Grin

I'm going to look through my book of cable patterns to see if one seems like it would fit.
I don't know if there's too many colors in my yarn that would over power a cable pattern?
Cinderelly, your yarn and a cable pattern would be beautiful!!
Crescentfresh, that's a great point! I'm working on a sweater right now & I'm making both sleeves at once on circulars because that is exactly my problem, so maybe I will try to work the leg warmers on circulars at the same time...

Cinderelly!  I LOVE that color!!!!
I'm actually glad I have to wait a little before I get my yarn, I've had time to think of how I could modify the leg warmers and so far I've come up with 2 options!
1) either a simple cable pattern up the back
OR!!
2) holes in the back (probably just at the top half) so I can weave ribbon through it to make it a lace up stocking!!
Thoughts?
