Too cute! They look like big furry paws.
12  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ MAR on: March 30, 2008 02:42:48 PM
Ok, I finally got a couple of squares knocked out!

They are both done in Red Heart Super Saver. I'm not sure what to think on the March one - I had some real difficulties, but it's a cute square. I definitely didn't find it a "mindless" pattern; I really had to count and make sure I wasn't missing anything on the pattern. Also on the February square, I'm not too pleased with my surface chain, but I had never done that before, so I'm giving myself a break on it. Smiley

Anyone else find the March square difficult or was it just me? I have a fair amount of crochet experience... Maybe I'll try it later or substitute it for something else.  Undecided

I've been having some trouble too. And I can't tell which round the trouble starts at either! I've re-written the pattern so that I have each step written out, but I haven't tried again since doing that. I just had to put it away for a while.

Whoo, I finally got a February square done! I still need to get the picture off of my camera, and then I will post it! Also, I've started the March square TWICE and I seem to be missing something. Possibly because I was making it while watching tv, and I wasn't really focused. So I am going to try again tonight! I love seeing everyone's squares, they all look great. The colors are all so different, and I love how versatile the squares are.

I'm going to have to look up that flat braid joining - I really like the looks of it!

Oh, that frog is adorable! I love how he sits so well. Nice job with the cat too!

Ooh, the box is so fun! And UNDIES! That say "I've got illegals in my bottom"! That is hilarious. And the tote looks good - I like the "don't fear the reapers" quote. I think iron ons are just hit and miss sometimes. Smiley

I'm excited for the movie ... It will be fun to have some new DLM adventures to laugh about. New fun quotations! Yay!
19  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: How to get a picky guy to try vegetarian dishes? on: February 28, 2008 02:03:27 PM
I'm married to a wonderful guy who happens to be omni, and I'm vegetarian.

To echo Maleah's post: Morningstar! They have the best tasting veggie-meats, IMO. My husband cannot tell the difference when I use the crumbles in spaghetti sauce or in a lasagna. Also, use the crumbles for tacos...mmmmmm....

Yes, tacos!! Tacos are really great too if you make some brown rice to put in them too. It adds substance and texture, which is great for meatless dishes.

well you shoulda been working on your squares and not wasting all your time with that dead like me swap!  Wink Cheesy

Gee whiz, I know ...  Cheesy I really was thinking that while I was crafting for the swap - "as soon as I get THIS done, then I can make more squares!" At least the squares go quickly. So I just need to plant my crochet bag next to the couch so that every time I am watching TV, I can whip out a square!!
