21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / help with Knitty's penny dog sweater? on: April 17, 2005 04:16:04 PM
I want to know if I'm a complete dork for not being able to follow the directions. The first part, if you followed the direction, does not make a rib like it's suppose to. And second part, the M1 increases are not on both sidesof RS edges. Thanks in advance!

22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / teaching a friend to knit on: September 12, 2004 11:57:48 AM
Hi,

My friend wants me to teach her to knit and I would love to. Is it best to start with a garter stitch scarf, and what kind of yarn and needle size would be best for a beginner? I've never taught anyone to knit before except my husband, but then he hijacked my snb and taught himself continental while I only do English. Anyway, any hint or tips would be appreciated.

23  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Interweave Crochet on: September 09, 2004 03:25:34 PM
Has anyone gotten their hot little hands on the premier issue of Interweave Crochet yet? I believe it was suppose to hit the stands Sep.7. I haven't had a chance to go get one yet and I"m dying to know if it is as good as Interweave Knits.

24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / conversion of nylon size from Japanese help on: August 12, 2004 07:27:47 PM
Hi,

I got a beading book by a Japanese author and the nylon in her projects calls for #1.5 and #2 nylon thread. Now how would that convert to in our terms? All the catalogs I have seen uses letters to denote size. Any help would be very much appreciated!

25  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / 2 easy shawls and a hat on: August 11, 2004 11:22:19 AM
Hi,

I made these two shawls from the same pattern and yarn but they came out looking different. Must've crochet into the wrong space! The hat I made from the Better Homes & Garden Crochet magazine. What do you think?

26  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / what is Knitty? on: May 19, 2004 07:14:01 PM
There are a lot of references to Knitty in the posts and I am unhip enough to ask is it just a website or an actual magazine. I've never seen it at the stores. Thank you for enlightening me.

27  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / prioritizing projects on: May 17, 2004 10:50:11 AM
Hi All,

I started knitting again after a fifteen years hiatus and it's been a year and I have not been able to make anything for myself! Someone is always having a baby or a birthday comes up and then there's Xmas. Don't get me wrong, I love making stuff for other people, but I can't seem to place a project for myself above other people's. How do you guys prioritize what projects get made? I would appreciate any advice.
