I never have used a pattern before. I just bought one and some fabric. Its a McCalls 5388 I think. Im making a top but I dont know how to use the tissue paper and the instructions are crazy!!
Whats selvage?
Gathering is something i DONT know how to do! HELP!
Its a really pretty top and I want to finish it.

gar! im feeling really crafty tonight, but my bobbin ran out of thread and i dont know how to rethread it without it bunching when im sewing! and i also dont have any fabric. i cant go to to joann's or hancock cause i cant DRIVE!! argh.
whats a girl supposed to do?
i NEED to make something. i want to make a retro jumper with large pockets! or a caftan for my sister (cause she's bugging me about it)
any ideas to help me out?
i think i can rummage up some old shirts of my dad's.

I want to show of my sewing skills for Chemistry. On Mole Day, I chose to sew a stuffed mole. Only thing, is I dont know how to make a stuffed mole. I want it to stand on its four legs stuff. Im also going to create a green and white basket ball jersey for it.
Can anyone conjure up a mole pattern? Or any tips to making stuffed animals?

I want this bag but its like 30-40 bucks. That's a lot for just a tote. I guess its the Abercrombie brand/logo, but still.
So I was thinking, since the design is simple, I'd just buy a navy tote, but then the logo...
Any ideas on how I can copy the A&F onto the tote? (Without it looking like its a fake?)

My dad bought me this ugly gray hoodie from Walgreen's a while ago. Its enormous and is long.  I need some ideas to do to it.
i wanted to crop the sleeves and make it elbow legnth , along with making the whole thing fit. YOu guys have any ideas? (Like pockets, or design?)

Lately I've been seeing these thermals and thermal hoodies around at my favorite stores. I don't get allowance or any money to spend shopping so I thought I'd make one on my own for a lesser price with fabric from Hancock's. Any ideas on how they made this?

I just bought a yard and a half of green polka dot fabric and used a yard, give or take couple inches. I have, a decent amount of fabric left and I'm not sure what to do with it. Belt or another skirt? Any ideas and/or tutorials would be helpful and much appreciated.
