I'm making a hat for a friend of mine and while increasing, I added an extra row of stitches  . Now instead of going from  24 in the first row to 36 in the next row, I am going from 24 to 48 in the next row. And my hat edges are curling at the sides! So, my question is if I keep going on with my wonky hat and do normal increases from here on, will it be a larger version of the original pattern or will it just continue to be wonky  ? My friend has a pretty large head so it wouldn't be too much of a problem if it came out larger than usual  !

I've been crocheting simple stuff for a while now and wanted to make a bag for myself this summer. Though I've gotten most of the basic stitches down, I cant make sense of this part of my pattern:
2 hdc in next stitch

I know what hdc is AND I know how to do one hdc in one stitch...but TWO? *GASP*

Help me! *whimpers quietly*

So here's the deal:
I bought one of those sewing machines aptly named the "sewing genie" for mending stuff at value city for $5. I thought it was a pretty sweet deal......

Until i actually tried to use the thing.

Although this isnt my first time sewing, I dont own a machine and thought that this one would be perfect for the little projects i plan on doing. Sadly, the machine turned out to be a piece of junk. After i finally threaded it (it took waaay too long), there seems to be a problem with the bottom bobbin. The needle just doesnt "catch"/"loop" the bottom bobbin thread like its supposed to....and thus, my sewing machine does not sew!

Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else buy one and figure out how to use it? Did i pay $5 for a paper weight?
