1  wristlets aka: barbags - I followed through with something! huzzah! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SpinVixen on: February 02, 2008 06:51:19 PM
so thanks to e.r.i.k.a.'s amazing lined zippered pouch tute, I got off of my booty and got to stashbusting...

i haven't sewn since about 5th grade, but i recently found a 70s Singer Fashion Mate machine at a garage sale for all of 5 bucks. so i finally quit procrastinating and sat for a while and fought with it and these were the result!!!

all of the fabric I used I found at various thrift stores and have been hoarding it forever- it felt good to put it to use!

i love them but i fear its like that unconditional love you have for your own child... ha ha!  i would LOVE any comments/criticism! Thanks for looking!

sorry if the pics are huge! photobucket and I are working out our differences...

thanks batgirl! I'm just afraid that they will look ridiculously fake! have you done your own before? does anyone have photos of ones that they have made? i'd love to see!

Here's a pic of my hair now, the color is out of a box so I'm assuming that I can just dye my extensions the same color? Also I'm thinking maybe I'd just dye brown/black underneath? Any help would be superb because i am desperate and poor Cheesy and you guys are always so knowledgeable!

3  HUZZAH! i finished something! (p.s. it's a hat) in Knitting: Completed Projects by SpinVixen on: March 09, 2007 09:52:38 AM
i am new to knitting and I have finally finished something besides a scarf or cali... a fat little hat!

so I followed the berroco twosome pattern --> http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/twosome/twosome.html beaucse I wanted something easy and slouchy, but this is what I ended up with...

docuhebaggy action-shot

and here's a back/side view

hopefully the pictures are small... stupid photobucket...

i used paton's shetland chunky and 7's for the ribbing and 8's for the rest ... meh
i'm not a huge fan, looks like many of my thrifty-found hats that I already own, but my boyfriend loves it so I figured no harm done!
yay! I finished something!

HOORAY! I made this soy candle for my boss (I work @ a coffeehouse/ceramic studio) and she was thrilled! She actually offered me shelf space to sell them!

sorry if it's ENORMOUS!

Problem was it was my first experience with any kind of candle making and since i was already late for our gift exchange it was kinda half-assed (pardon my french)

i used crayons to color it and the sent was more a la crayon than hazelnut latte... so i sprinkled some ground hazelnut coffee I had around the house on top... it crackles when you burn it, but doesn't go up in flames or anything..

but if I was going to sell them is there a way to use coffee gounds on the top without the danger factor?  Grin

5  Re: Anyone interested? Here and There Cables from Scarf Style in Knitalongs by SpinVixen on: March 02, 2007 07:10:15 AM
i was browsing and found this thread, but It's been a while since anyone has posted on it, but I figured I'd give it a try...

I am a brand new knitter and I decided to use paton's shetland chunky tweeds (CHEAP!!) and sz 8 needles, so I cast on 56 instead of the 74, but I think this is just BLAH. I'm trying to decide if i should just rip it out...??

the pics are rather crappy: my apologies!

6  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by SpinVixen on: November 05, 2006 07:46:03 AM
Ok so I have been reading this thread for a while... a good hundred pages or so... and i thought i'd post my hair in all of it's glory  Undecided...

(edited to censor the boobage)

I finally found a friend who could cut it just the way i wanted it and well, she moved. I realized that I'm pretty lucky that my job will let me do whatever i want to my hair, and I'm thinking it's time to start taking advantage of that.

i'm a pretty pale gal, and I'm not much for the faux sun look... any color ideas? i tend to do orangey colors and reds...

ok sorry about the babbling-I'm done!
