just thought I'd post with some of the stencils Ive made over the last few months..
this was one of my first stencils, a birthday present for a friend.
She came up with the acrostic for her name and asked for me to make it into a shirt.
I did the huge letters with iron-on transfer paper, and touched it up with paint, since at the time I felt too lazy to cut out the larger letters.
This, however, was a mistake. After wearing the shirt a lot, the iron-on letters faded but the stenciled ones stayed the same, so now Im in the process of fixing it.
The moral of the story: stencilling beats iron-on transfer.
another one of the first stencils I did, just an image from stencilry.
I think it looks a little weird with the paint color being lighter than the shirt color =\
this was a portrait of my neighbor I gave her as a graduation present. I created it off a photograph:
and a quick airplane shirt I did with leftover paint:
I was about to head to a party, but had nothing to wear (ahahah).
So an hour before I left I cut out some stars and ended up with this:
my friend loves Dane Cook, so I decided to stencil her a shirt for her birthday in July. She loved it, but ended up turning it into a patch:
a banana pocky shirt I'd been planning for awhile. It turned out pretty well:
And finally, another party came up and I found myself once again with nothing to wear. Since I had just discovered the band Shiny Toy Guns, I made a shirt with lyrics from one of their songs:
and thats all! questions, comments, critiques always welcome.
