4  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / What kind of loom is this? on: July 13, 2013 03:42:14 PM
Hello!

Far too long ago, a friend and I adopted a loom. However, we were both busy and were never able to determine what kind of loom it was. I've looked through a number of books and online tutorials, but never saw anything exactly the same as it.  Huh The closest I can come is a rigid heddle loom, but in that case, I think it is missing a few parts. I'm hoping that my fellow craftsters can help me with identification so that I can began learning to use it. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!  Grin

As you can see, all of the dowels are stationary except for that one dowel in the slot with the pins. By removing the pins, its position in the slot can be changed.

Thank you again for any assistance you can provide!

Oh my, did you make that central Hello Kitty applique yourself? It's absolutely wonderful--you've undoubtedly made somebody very, very happy! Great job!

Very pretty! The quilt itself looks super-snuggly, too!
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Paintbox quilt! on: December 26, 2012 11:15:28 AM
It looks gorgeously crisp and modern! Very beautiful! Did you follow a pattern for the color placement, choose it by eye, or have it be completely randomized?
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Log Cabin Quilt king size on: December 26, 2012 10:40:44 AM
Gorgeous! The colors work beautifully with the pattern, and it looks both classic and modern. I'm very impressed that you quilted the entire thing. It's huge! Shocked

Lovely quilt, and lovely story! I think all of us are bitten by the procrastination bug at one point or another; what matters is that you got it done, and done beautifully. That will be one happy momma-to-be!  Smiley
