11  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / vegan/veg recepies on: September 06, 2009 05:03:27 PM
Hey guys!!

I've been a veg head for over 6 years now but am now just thinking of making food in bulk and freezing it.

A) to save money
B) for later convenience
C) So harder recipies wont always be skiped over due to time constraints!

If anyone has any really tasty recepies that are great to freeze and can be poped into the microwave or oven to reheat later on that would be great!

Side note: I really dont like olives, or bok choy, but pretty much everything else is game.

I was thinking home made burgers, pizzas (fully topped so I can just throw them in the oven)....

Help me out people!! haha

Thanks everyone!

12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / grover's new hat :P on: August 12, 2009 03:43:18 PM
Well not really grover's but he sure loves wearing it!

It's a little monkey hat for a newborn. I just had enough wool to make the hat but if I can find somemore I'd like to make some mittens to go with it and maybe some booties.

this is a closeup to try and show the color a bit better, these dont really do it justice though, I am in love with this hat!

What do you think? I made up the pattern as I went along, I think it turned out pretty cute!
13  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Mr Eugene Krabs on: August 12, 2009 02:42:54 PM
So I was one of the very lucky people that got to test out the Eugene Krabs crochet pattern designed by mama24boyz.

I was so excited, mostly because I love the Spongebob show ... and have every box set *cough cough* but as soon as I saw him I knew my baby to be would love him!!!

Presenting Mr. Eugene Krabs, owner of The Krabby Patty and lover of money!

Front

Back

With his new friend

And in the baby room to be with his other rambunctious comrads

He was so fun to make. A few miner changes, I made him sit instead of stand, because just as I was putting on Mr. Krabs legs he said.

"Alas me gal, those be m'legs, if ye put them on that way I wont be able to count me money at me desk!"

So I gratiously made him sit, and if he ever has to move, he just hollers and I take him where he needs to go, but that money counting seems to be a full time job Tongue

And I opted not to put his eye lids on just cause I think he looks better without.

What do you all think? I'm very happy with how he turned out.

oh and here is a picture of him from the show so you can see what he looks like

14  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Help, no closets!!!! on: August 02, 2009 07:07:02 PM
So neither my bedroom nor the baby nursery have closets, I need inexpensive cafty ways to create them.

I should mention that I live in an apartment and cant screw into walls etc.

I have clothing to hang and clothing that can go in a dresser, baskets, w/e but I also want it to look nice.

Any ideas?

I thought it would be fun to do a swap for all us expecting craftsters, I figure we could craft one large, med and small item for a 0-3 month old.

It could be gender specific items or a unisexe item, depending if you are going to know if you are having a boy or girl.

What do you all think?
17  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Help decorating living room in apartment on: July 15, 2009 10:53:07 AM
So I'm trying to declutter and baby friendly my livingroom and make it look nice at the same time. My other trouble is I can't paint, and I can only hang pctures etc with finishing nails, so nothing heavy. I need multi functional furniture aswell. Also it have to be a livingroom/dining room (table to sit atleast 4).

Ok so this is a basic diagram of my livingroom with measrments

here's a link to the pic to see it betterhttp://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y91/irish_chicky/?action=view&current=livingroom.jpg

And here are some pictures of what it looks like now, sorry for the mess, I've been sick and had no energy to do major clean ups.

a few other notes. the desk is not staying.I dont need it anymore, and the trunk by the tv stand is getting moved into the babies room. The wingback chair and futon are staying in this room, but other then that I need a new coffee table, or ideas how to make my wooden trunk nicer and more baby friendly, a small dining table and chairs and some storage.

I need ideas on furniture and placement of furniture.

Any ideas at all would be hugely apprciated!

Thanks

19  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Hand Pincushion on: August 30, 2008 04:52:30 AM
I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but it's plush, and oh so bizzare

I'm doing the pin cushion swwap and I had a bizarre idea for a pincushion, which was great because my partner said she had a weird sence of humor.

I traced my hand, cut it out of felt, put it all together and this is what I got.

[/img]

It can be tied around your sewing mchine or your wrist. I pla on making and selling these and other bizzaro pincushions!!

What do you think?

oh here is the pincushion swap gallery. you can see a picture of it around a ssewing machine here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=264043.40

The top and bottom fabric has bananas and the band is yellow, stuffed with polyfill, wrapped with a fuzzy ribbon and sewn on two buttons one on the bottom and one on the top.
