For you stenciling pros, I need some tips:
I tried to make it with contact paper by printing the image on but the ink never dried on the contact paper i had... so I had to kind of eyeball it, which is why the two lions have funny proportions.  has anyone here used contact paper?
 critiques welcome!

Everyone has all those miniskirts and I was so jealous!
So duh, i made my own.

So I've had this plaid fabric for about 3 years now.

And then I made a second one because I like checkerboard.

It's really the exact same one as the first plaid but without the D rings.
comments?
Oh hey I'll post a tutorial if enough people seem to be interested. But not tonight because I am quite tired.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My McQueen knock off jumper on: September 27, 2006 09:06:19 PM
so this is what i based my dress off of.

I love alexander McQueen like oh man.  My dress is not near as nice but oh well.  I made mine with straps like a jumper instead of his bodice and I couldn't fine a red tartan that wasn't super expensive.  So anyways, here is mine!

Man.. i'm really not depressed guys.  I'm pretty excited. Sorry i look so unhappy in those pictures.
should i wear the black belt? or a different color?
Thanks very much
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / i want to live where i can wear coats all the time on: August 03, 2006 11:07:26 PM
but i live in texas... so oh well...

So my boyfriend had a pirate birthday party. and i had to make costumes. after i made the costumes i said, i have to make a johnny depp pirate jacket.. this was before the second movie came out so i promise i wasnt trying to copy keira knightley.. although she is definitely copy-worthy.

anyways.. here's the jacket

sorry for the sideways..

and the whole costume put together.

excuse the retard faces in all the pictures.
so tell me what you think! and if you have any ideas in easier ways to make this jacket. i would love to make more and sell them somehow but it took a good 2 days to make it.. maybe 3 including the day i took to put the lining in..
  thanks!

edit: if i did make these to sell, what do you all think would be a reasonable price? the fabric cost 40 dollars, buttons $20, lining was around $20.. and if you think about labor it took me a good 25-30 hours.. which i know if i started to make a bunch more i'd get a lot faster too.  but anyways... how much would you guys pay for that?
