This is my 3rd attempt at shorts, and i think i've finally got it right. (you know a project was a success when you want to wear it out that night)

aaaaaaaaaaaaand...this was the only front view picture i took, unfortunately. ignore the text and my level of ridiculousity..

any feedback is mucho-appreciated =]]

and as far as a tute...

*start with some good music on, and make a standard circle skirt
*ruffle a TON of short layers of tulle then attach the tulle under the skirt

very simple, very cute.

Thanks guys   Smiley
& to answer your q's
-yes it's my pattern
-and yes the beige one is a pleated circle skirt, that was the prototype for the "teacup skirt" and the black one is the first legit one i've made

I'm absolutely in love with anything excessively girly, and/or ridiculous =]
I've only made this skirt in black and beige so far, but there are more to come.

opinions? for the next one should I leave the hanging pieces from the bow like the beige one or just stick with the plain bow?

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Barbados Tulip Skirt & Vedette Frock *pics fixed on: June 21, 2008 09:06:20 AM

I loooove tulip skirts, and they're ridiculously easy to make =]

h.hh..hhoww? I love them too but they look impossible to make!

also- pockets on anything and everything are great.

Ghetto Text Tulip Skirt Tute:

-cut one long rectangle of fabric fpr the middle section, ruffle both ends
-sew the two bands (one the circumference of your waist, and the other whatever measurement you want for the bottom band)
-sew it all together, and voila! I usually just do a button-closure on the top band.

ahoy craftsters!

I loooove tulip skirts, and they're ridiculously easy to make =]
This one's especially fantastic 'cause I added pockets

This one is still a work in progress, but i couldn't help myself from posting pics anyways:
As you can see it's a bustier/poof skirt deal, back zip and velvet (wierd, right?) detailing on the top

feedback is much appreciated  Roll Eyes
