22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My first earrings, wooot! on: January 31, 2007 02:26:57 PM
My first attempt at earrings. The longest hang down at 2inches, so they're all pretty modest in terms of length. Opinions or critisim?

23  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Who doesn't like Mario Bros??? on: January 28, 2007 02:32:14 PM
Well It's my husbands bday on monday so i figure why not make him mario bro themed cushions for his guy room! Everything is done from scratch. I appliqued buttons for eyes, hand embroidered his mouth and the rest is felt and the whole face is hand stitched on for the goomba cushion. The mushroom is all fleece with felt black eyes, but i obviously stitched the head on way off to the side so it's messed up. I'm gonna give him the mushroom today since i'd be too embarassed if he opened it infront of everyone tomorrow. Comments appreciated!

24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sewing satin is no fun on: January 04, 2007 10:03:57 PM
Well i worked on this bag on and off for 3 days and double sewed the seams so it will with hold its future contents, whatever they may be. I sewed wide satin ribbon along both sides, then skinnier satin ribbon onto the inner pocket. The pocket isn't uneven, just part of the lining is covering it in the pic. Outside is corduroy type fabric, inside is satin. Comments?

Thanks for checking my bag out  Wink
25  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I ain't no pro but i can make a sturdy bag :P on: December 30, 2006 05:03:40 PM
For christmas i made my mother a large tote bag to carry all her misc supplies to church in. Its corduroy fabric with gold shimmery accents, aswell as a patchwork pocket inside and ties for closure. The bottom is designed to have that structured square look just it's hidden well in the design. She specifically asked for a large bag with only one strap, not two so this is what she got for christmas and she loved it.
It's only my 3rd bag attempt so be gentle on me.  Wink

26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Reversible Fleece hat(a first!) on: December 30, 2006 04:57:03 PM
My mother wanted a nice warm fleece hat for those cold canadian winters. I've never made a hat but i'm up for challenges so i made a reversible double fleece layered one for her. Made from dark red and dark grey fleece and the appliques are a snowflake with surrounding smaller flakes, then a diamond/argyle type pattern on the other brim of the hat. When she flips over the brim she has her self a new design.  Cheesy
Comments? Sorry no action shots folks.

27  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / What exactly is a show case? on: December 28, 2006 09:16:14 PM
Whats all this talk about being in a show case? Does etsy choose a shop to promote or something like that?
28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / big, ulgy out-of-date sweater to.......... on: December 22, 2006 06:19:31 PM
So I started out with 2 of these beasty looking sweaters(one in cream, one in red). They had collars and were 4x bigger then me. So i made them into cropped sweaters and used the collars for the edge of the sleeves. The sleeves are also pleated on the side.

29  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Mom's Crochet christmas tree & decorations! on: December 09, 2006 04:35:27 PM
My mom(she's also a member on here) just sent me the cutest crochet items in the mail! First is one of those adorable lil' christmas trees with beads for ornaments. She also added the cutest lil' star on top. Next we have a door knob hanger with a bell and a door knob cover in christmas colours but it also has a gold thread through it. Very purdy!
So here's to crafty mothers(i dunno how she could doubt her crafts!)! I'm sure she and I would appreciate comments.... Wink

30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First bag attempt on: November 19, 2006 08:58:20 PM
Well with my first swap i decided to make a bag for my partner. The exterior is a brown lined/suede feeling fabric, the lining is  purple/black polka dotted cotton with a brown interior pocket. I then made a flower applique out of 2 purple felt flowers and one maroon pleather flower cut out. My first try at a bag and i think it turned out good. What cha think?
