21  Argyle Wreathe from recycled goods! in Winter Holidays by snowyangel on: December 15, 2007 02:56:01 PM
Gotta love recycling and the free goods you get from it, eh? Since I didn't own a wreathe and I'm too cheap to buy one I made one using spare supplies i had sitting around: cardboard circle, plastic bags as stuffing, some awesome argyle plaid fabric, gold snowflake ribbon, red cording to hang it from and red/brown ribbon to make the bow. About 14inches tall and no sewing required, woohoo!

23  Re: Show off your TREE, Mantle, Or other HOLIDAY decor! in Winter Holidays by snowyangel on: December 12, 2007 01:05:37 PM
Thanks for the compliments! Yeah ever since we got him as a kitten he just can't wait for the tree to be put up every year. This year he was in it before we even had the thing put together. Then when we were putting on ornaments we would have claws reaching out for us within the tree.

I love seeing everyones trees and lights. To me christmas is all about the colors!
Here's our 6.5 foot blue/gold/white tree with gold and white lights and a crocheted white angel for the top. The ornaments consist of plastic cat-proof balls and various hand made ornaments i've recieved from swaps and my mother. Lucky for us, it came with a catbird(can you spot him?). Tongue

25  First Baby blanket and 6hrs friggin later..... in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by snowyangel on: December 01, 2007 10:16:33 AM
My cousin decided to hire me to make her friend a fleece baby blanket, fine I can do a square blanket shouldn't be too hard right? Well my deadline was in 2 days since it's going to ship to Canada. Well 6hrs later, more seam ripping than sewing, bunched up thread, fabric being too thick to sewn on, swearing.... you get the point, I finally finished the blanket. I hope she approves. She wanted snowflakes as the theme and the blanket in baby blue and K for the girls name(i bought that), the white trim is soooo soft and fluffy. It also converts into a pillow. All designs were done free hand on my machine.

This snowflake took me an hour so it would be measured accurately and precise.

The border

Folded into a pillow

26  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by snowyangel on: November 13, 2007 03:32:34 PM
Nix Kisses has set the bar high ladies and gents! She made me a geometric inspired fully lined stocking with items for me and my husband Ryan: vintage pez candy card, almond chocolate fudge(half eaten by now), pouch full with fabric, awesome beaded, glittery and pacman ornaments(woohoo!), fabric tree decorations, a jumbo pin cushion(I so needed one), stenciled canvas art of bike and a pug, pin up girl re-upholstered switch covers for the hubby, horror movie photo album, red polka dotted waist belt, crochet necklace, vintage sewing machine cards, and mushroom keychain for the hubs!
I can't believe how many talents this girl has and how closely she mimicked my wist favs!

Thanks hun, you rocked this swap big time Wink

27  new green bag with bow in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by snowyangel on: November 09, 2007 10:47:08 PM
Finished this one up yesterday. The fabric is real vintage era, I loved it when i saw it. I decided to add big inner pocket and front bow. I made the strap wide so it's comfy on the shoulder.

The bow looks awkward in this picture, but it is even. Tongue

28  Pillow passion in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by snowyangel on: October 27, 2007 05:45:35 PM
I love pillows and love making them. I made them fairly boring and simple so they match with anything really. From L to R: Blue flannel feeling fabric, Dotted satin, Aqua Satin and polished cotton?, and Tan textured faux leather. The triangle one I made a fabric covered button for the centre. Hope you like!

29  Curtain Frenzy! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by snowyangel on: October 19, 2007 08:10:15 PM
Okay, so i hate the white blinds that came with our house so what better way for an excuse to go buy fabric and make curtains!

The bathroom curtains. I used an existing plain curtain that was much too long and gathered it then added white/brown bows at the bottoms:

Craft Room. There are two of these actually and they cover tall full length windows. I just combined 2 fabrics I previously had to add some color to the room.

Dining room. I found this sheer fabric discounted at $1.50 a yard and hadto get it, then I found .99 plain white cotton fabric and layered the 2 fabrics.

Hubby's guy room needed something to cover his closet area since there's no door, so he picked out the fabric he wanted. It's modeled on the floor since the bar still needs to be installed.

30  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 26 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by snowyangel on: October 19, 2007 08:00:59 PM
After being flaked on(booo) I recieved an angel from heaven! Kittykill jam packed a box full of delicious sweets, aswell as cat treats and a feather mouse for my "fur babies" and 4 tranformers figures for the hubby from Japan. He literally gasped and was like "ohhh, ohhh, ohhh!". The cats loved the treats and Taz immediately ran off with the mouse in his mouth. Thanks so much for being my angel kittykill! Cheesy
