22  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Milk packages - things I could do with kids! HELP!* on: October 21, 2006 07:00:16 AM
First, i must say you have way cuter milk carton thingies than we do. hmmm. here's a few random ideas:
Make little purses- like cut them in half down to the bottom, then glue a little piece of fabric on each side, then hole punch 4 little holes in the top, and have them bead with those kiddie beads [i forget the name] on some string and tie it for handles. I'm not sure if it would work. looked kinda cute in my mind. you could even use lie recycled fabric from like to small shirts and beads from an old necklace or something. they could also paint the box first.

Vase- [yes, i think of girlie projects] cut off the top and have them paint it. Then maybe you can take pipe cleaners and some "recycled" tissue paper from gifts or some scrap construction paper and make those little flowers like they make with tissue paper. They can look really cool with the comics section of an old newspaper too.

I was thinking crafty and younger kids. so i hope they might have helped =]
23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: marilyn monroe inspired dress--trash bags. EDIT:TUTORIAL. on: October 15, 2006 01:48:23 PM
sooo, i finally got around to taking 20 minutes to put the straps on and take pictures of my try at this.  Grin i really like it and might wear it for halloween. All i did was make a wasteband [[not weaved]] and tape trash bags on [[the kind that bunch at the end]] across the bottom of it and they just poofed out themselves. then i put 2 more thick square ones underneath sideways for lining. Then i just taped 2 thick ones to the top of the band buched up a little and tied them in the back in a halter. Oh, and i close mine with velcro dots then put clear packing tape over it to make sure it stays on. Here's the picture: -dont mind my demented face.

^the front [[thought i'd add, this dress makes me look fatter than i am =P]]

^the back

thanks for the great idea/tut, i love the dress!
24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Decemberists Green Uniform Shirt - > Fun times! on: October 06, 2006 08:11:15 AM
I really like it! yay for The Decemberist! i think it looks cuter like than then just in tshirt form. i wear band tees pretty much everyday and just tshirts can get pretty boring. hehe to all the fond internet gazers, i do way to much of that. But i live in Orlando and alot of bands end up coming here especially when cstone florida rolls around =D

26  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Ska Bag! on: October 02, 2006 01:05:23 PM
So after clening my room last night i found a plain totebag i bought awhile ago for who knows what. Out of boredum i decided to *attempt* to stencil something on it. I found a great "Proud To Be A Ska Kid" stencil by colorfigment. [[link at bottom]] I then noticed i had to frezer paper so i just kinda cut out and traced the skanker and sharpied the words out by hand. It turned out really cute, but i decided to give it to one of the biggest ska kids i know for her birthday. hope you like it!

sorry about the not-so-great photos. I'm giving it to her tonight so i wanted to post before i gave it away.

so i totally loved this 2 much. i decided to do the ska stencil on a tote bag i had laying around 2nite. i suck at stenciling so i just kinda "stared at it intently" and went free hand. it turned out really well and now i have a fabulous new totebag for a friends birthday =D thanks for the fabulous stencil <333

30  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / sea glass on: September 27, 2006 12:12:13 PM
I looked around and didn't see anything posted about it so i posted. Im a little FL nerd that had never seen sea glass and when i went to Maine this summer i freaked out and collected tons of it. so now i have it in a few bowls but i wanna actually do something with it. I've already picked out the best 3 pieces to have my friend wirewrap as pendants for my fam for xmas. I can't think of much else to do with it but kinda do mosiacs and jewelry. theres alot of green [dark and light], clear, brown, and some blue and pink. any ideas?  Smiley
