I've seen all the cute monster iPod cozies on this forum and tried one myself. It worked for a while, but then the eye fell off. I'm going to try again when I get all my crafting stuff into my new apartment.

I was so inspired by the creations of heather_as (http://needlings.etsy.com) that I made a mini-versions as Valentine's presents for my friends this year. Check out my army of Needlings wannabes.

My lovely old roommate and I are huge craftsters. For Christmas 2007, I made her this sweet stocking from felt, fabric scraps, glitter paint, buttons, and mod podge (I didn't want to edge of the fabric scraps to fray and I didn't want to sew them either). Anyways, my roommate, who loves giraffes, was stoked to see this.

Stocking:

When I was in high school, I was pretty much a champion duct taper (not that I ever entered that prom contest though). Anyways, since I've been in college I haven't had quite as much time to craft, but last year, I made this owl bag to carry around my books. It's pretty sweet.

My friend has an addiction to weird old dresses. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the ability to sew, so she gave me a vintage Oscar de la Renta dress she picked up at a secondhand store to "redo" for her. I liked the shape of the original dress, but needed to take out the length and the "busy" pattern on the bottom of the dress. The hardest part was that this dress was lined with silk so it was hard for me to "chop up" and sew back together.

So, I forgot to take a picture of this dress "before", but the after turned out pretty well. This started out as a floor length ugly mumu of a dress. About all I had to do was hem it up for my friend. I think I shortened the sleeves a little bit, but it maintains most of its original shape. Check it out. (P.S. I apologize for the poor "modeling" picture of my friend wearing her dress).

The other day, I was at my friend's apartment when I saw this awesome screen-printed canvas from Urban Outfitters. It was brown and had white wheat all over it. Well, I didn't want to be a copy cat so I went out and bought paint and supplies to do my own version of it. This was my first time doing a canvas painting with acrylic paint, but I have to say that I think it went well. In total, I spent about six hours on the project. My favorite part? Everybody who sees it asks "Where did you buy that?"
