Details of swap:

Rightey-oh, the crafts for writers swap has finally started!  Grin This swap is for anyone who loves writing as much as they love crafting! Doesn't matter if you like poetry, novel-writing, song-writing, anything, we love everyone who writes! Wink I'm thinking a minimum of atleast 1 medium and 2 small items, but anything you and your partner decide on is OK with me Smiley **Must be atleast 50% crafted goodies though. Pretty please don't sign-up unless you are truly commited!

Here are some ideas people had -

altered journals to note stuff in, pencil cases, desk supplies, stationary, favourite book or poem book, Stationary, pens, inspiration books or quotes, a book that inspired you that you want to share, a story / poem you wrote, coffe(for those long writing nights), a journal , an IDEA notebook.
Also anything for inspiration or concentration, for example I use aromatic candles, a good cup of coffee and a good pen to start. Also pictures of people or places are inspirational, maybe even someone's personal experiences helps motivate too, 'writing muse in a box', 'writer's toolbox', prompts.

Okay, so you get the idea...

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Calendar ATC Swap?? on: October 21, 2006 05:25:28 PM
I just had an idea:

With it being nearly the new year and all, would anyone be interested in an ATC calendar swap?
It would be too much for everyone to send 12 in one go, so we could maybe post 3 at a time? So January, February, March for the first swap. April, May, June for the second swap, etc.
So everyone would end up with 12 cards alltogether at the end of it.

If there was enough enthusiasm, we could maybe make a book or something to store them in?

Anyway, let me know what you think. Any interest?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first ever dress, yey! =D on: October 20, 2006 06:21:51 PM
I had a huge/boring Rock t-shirt which I used as a nightdress for a while then though, hey, why dont I turn it into a dress? So I did...

^^ The whole jambboree

^^ A close-up of the middle

^^ A better shot of the middle

^^ The top part.

I'm thinking about taking off the straps and putting in some elastic to make it strapless instead. Any ideas?

(Sorry about how terrible the pictures are. I have an awful digital camera, and its 2.21am  Undecided )
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / How do you collect ephemera? on: October 14, 2006 08:49:00 AM
I've just started making ATCs but I don't know where to look for interesting ephemera to use. Can anyone give me any tips? Smiley Thanks
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Crafts for writers swap?? on: October 12, 2006 01:12:39 PM
Sorry I couldn't think of a better name.

I don't know about anyone else, but I enjoy writing as well as crafting. I thought it would be a good idea to swap some writing goodies. Maybe altered journals to note stuff in, pencil cases, desk supplies, stationary, anything writing-related really.

I could probably organise is there was any interest.

Let me know if you'd be interested. Smiley
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Back to the Future swap on: September 17, 2006 04:24:58 PM

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Need help: Dressing up as a celebrity... on: September 17, 2006 08:40:38 AM
I have a mystery bus tour coming up soon and we have to dress up as famous people. I have nooo idea who to dress up as.

It's gonna be all girls so I expect atleast 3 Marilyn Monroes, 2 Chers and a few Madonnas. Anyone got any suggestion for an "original" costume that will poeple will still recognise? Also, if you have any suggestions on the actual making of the costume I would appreciate that too! Smiley Thank youuuuuu lots in advance.  Kiss
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Sending parcels from the UK... on: September 15, 2006 08:15:24 AM
Sorry if this has been asked before but I had a look around and couldn't find an answer, so...

I live in the UK. I normally try and send my swap goodies in packets but I've signed up for a swap where it would be much more convinient to send a parcel. As I'll probably end up sending to the US can anyone give me a rough guide on sending parcels via Royal Mail?

Is it possible to send through air/landmail (I couldn't find the correct info. on the website)
How much approximately would it cost?

Sorry for this longwinded question, but I'm terrible at asking questions.
Thank you in advance, I really appreciate your help! Smiley
10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Cooking for one... on: September 10, 2006 03:17:59 PM
Ok, well I'm a student living on my own so I'm skint all the time. Problem is I'm a vegetarian who has to eat healthily (I've had weight problems in the past) so I'm not into ready meals or junk food or stuff like that. Can anyone give me some suggestions for meals that a/ dont cost too much and b/ dont have a lot of leftovers (encouraging me to eat more).

Any tips or suggestions would be very, very much appreciated! Smiley Thank youuu.
