Aaaaaaah so cute!!! You even made the ring! That is seriously the cutest thing ever. Now all you need is a mini-science-fair-volcano to be Mount Doom, or something. ...Man. You could take this on the road! Have a little puppet-theater-reenactment of the story! OMG so cool.

Awesome! Aw, with antennae and everything! But if it's a him it should really be François, as Françoise is a girl's name...

Wow, that's wonderful! I saw the first two pictures and thought it was a cat bed, haha. But, yes, hat! Looks like a stained-glass window. Very nice.
9  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Harry Potter Scarf Knit-Along? on: July 29, 2007 12:53:07 PM
Hey all--

I made one of these a couple years ago (using the atypically.knit PoA pattern--http://knit.atypically.net/scarves/azkaban/pattern.shtml) and of course it came out crazy long and heavy--pictures here: http://elaineofshalott.livejournal.com/224372.html#cutid2; the stripes are really a silver-gray, even though they look white from the flash--partly because I think I made it even longer than the pattern says (oops) and partly because the pattern is just written that way. Anyway I never wear it, it's so big and looks awkward on me, so...what d'you think should I do with it? Should I rip the ENTIRE THING out and re-knit it to be, say, 1/2 the width but just as long? If I do that, does anyone want the extra yarn that will result? Or is anyone of the Ravenclaw persuasion really enamored of giant neck- and face-eating scarves, and wants the whole thing as is? PM me or post a message here if you do or have other suggestions...

EDIT: Pictures fixed. Smiley
