i really hope this is an april fools joke.  Macrame is really cool, but does not represent all crafts, as the name craftster does.

anyone else with me?? :/

thanks, thanks, thanks everyone!!!

I think I have the same fabric XD
Left over from a halloween costume that never really worked out.
if I can ever find it - I think I might just be inspired!

But my question is: how do you wash it? :S
As you've already answered that it isn't itchy (which kind of surprised me actually).

i havent worn it yet to wash it, but im guessing i will hand wash it and hang it dry.  i usually hand wash all the garments ive made, just because im scared the many shortcuts ive taken sewing each garment wont last through the machine. haha.   Roll Eyes

thank you so much everyone!!!

I really like it! i'm all for that colour!
although if I can say, why didn't you hem the neckline? doesn'it itch at all with all those paillettes on your neck?

do you mean why didnt i line it? it really isnt too bad.  honestly i wanted a quick, hour or less, dress... so i took some shortcuts.  i like it just the same and it really isnt itchy at all!!

wasnt it hard to sew with sequins? i have some BEAUTIFUL sequin fabric but don't have the nerve to use it. is it safe? any tips?

if its the same fabric at my dress, then i wouldnt worry. its pretty easy to sew with.  your needle occasionall ygets stuck in the sequins because of whatever adhesive is used to stick them on the fabric, and my needle also got very sticky throughout sewing this and i had to clean it off halfway through. but it really isnt hard to sew at all!  just takes some getting used to.

haha, i would wear it without leggings were it not for my mother.

and i would TOTALLY wear it out clubbing were it not for the small town i live in.

and wow, i cant believe it looks so similar to that dress!!

thanks again, everyone! i appreciate all the comments!!!

thanks everyone!  you are all too sweet. Smiley

the fabric is acutally really easy to sew.  just be patient and go slow if youre new to working with it.  the only problem i really had with it was that my needle would get sticky from the adhesive they used to put the sequins on the fabric, and then get stuck in the fabric or the thread would get stuck and break and id have to go back to where it broke and start again.  it only happened once or twice though.  also, it is pretty see-through.  i would recommend lining it but im lazy and would rather layer with a tank or go with the whole you-can-see-my-bra-through-my-shirt thing.

to those of you who are planning on making one--dont be scared!!!  you can do anything, good luck!

this was oh so easy to make.

first inspirered by the fabric, secondly by a fellow craftster who made something similar.

pattern vaguely copied from a favorite wet seal dress.

front as a top.

back as a top (excuse the bra straps).

as a dress. i know its short, im going to make silva leggings eventually.

floor as model.

tag shot!

questions, comments, concerns, constructive criticism?  i havent posted in forever and would appreciate some feedback!

love, frances.
