741  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Two Solomon's knot scarves on: November 28, 2006 12:21:21 PM
These two scarves are Christmas presents that I've made. Ive crocheted Solomon's knot, I like the technique very much, because it's so easy and fast, and the finished project looks good.

And here's a close up of the green scarf.
742  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / This year's Holiday cards. on: November 28, 2006 12:08:58 PM
Here are my hand made Holiday cards. Most of them are iris folded like these:

And I also made few 3D-cards:

My cards have never been ready this early. I'm actually surprised that I've finished all the cards I want to send and have two extra cards too.
743  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - NOVEMBER squares are up! on: November 28, 2006 12:01:46 PM
I've made only the easy square. I haven't had time to even start the experienced one, but sooner or later I'll try to crochet it too.
744  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Why are you Vegetarian/Vegan? on: November 26, 2006 09:50:46 AM
I began to have stomach problems, and my body coud not digest meat at all. So I researched and studied about what vegetarianism was and how to stay healthy. I think maybe my mom liked that I did research, so she started to allow me to not eat meat.

I also had stomach problems a few years back when I breifly started eating meat again, so I completely sympathize with you on that. Digesting meat is rough!
I didn't have stomach problems when I ate meat, but I had headache very often and it stopped when I started my vegetarian+fish-diet.
But two years ago or so I started to have problems with my stomach after eating dairy. Not always, but sometimes. And lactose free products aren't any better than normal.

I love the first one and added it to my wists. The pattern and the colour are just perfect.

I have never liked meat, or how it feels to chew it. I haven't eaten mammals or birds for about ten years. I can't remember when I stopped eating fish, I ate it every now and then when for few years. First I was against fur and animal testing, and when they started to offer vegetarian food at school I wanted to be a vegetarian. My mom told me that I made my life difficult "why can't you eat normal food?", so I agreed to keep fish in my diet.

Nowadays I eat much less dairy and eggs, I use oat and soy milk and creams, but sometimes I eat cheese, chocolate or other milk products. Usually I eat eggs only in restaurant or if someone offers me something that has eggs in it. My mom is used to my vegetarianism, and likes to eat vegetarian food. She doesn't think that being a vegetarian is hard anymore.

I don't think I'm going to be vegan. It's easy to eat vegan food at home, and I usually do, but I don't always eat at home. And I would miss cheese. The other reason is wool. I think wool is so excellent material that I'm not going to stop using my mittens, wool hat and scarfs.

748  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Secret Stash (who's got one??) on: November 25, 2006 06:43:56 AM
I don't hide anything I buy, but usually I don't show them to my boyfriend either. I just put them into closet/drawer/other place where I keep my crafting stuff or start crafting right away. I don't say "Look! I bought new fabric/papers/stickers/yarn/buttons/ribbon/etc." (Except last week: I got a lot of cool wall paper samples from a hardware store and I told him as soon as he came home.)
749  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Happy Little Christmas Swap! CLOSED, send Dec 8 on: November 23, 2006 11:01:00 AM
I haven't started yet. But I'm quite sure what I'm going to make and I don't have to go to work tomorrow.
750  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Tarot-along! on: November 20, 2006 12:03:46 PM
I don't need a tarot deck, I don't even want to have one. But making tarot cards sounds fun, so I guess I'm in. I suppose I can give it to someone as a present when it's ready.
