11  Re: 2010 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by heini on: June 29, 2010 08:33:29 AM
I haven't done much destashing lately, but I haven't added anything to my stash either.

Here's some pouches I made in may when I had spare moments at school. The grey one is for my pattern drawing supplies (rulers, glue, tape, pencil case etc.) and the other is for sewing supplies (scissors, pins, needles etc.). I put scissors and pin cushion for scale.

My sister asked me to make a small pouch for her, but I made three. She took all of them, but I'm not sure if she's going to keep them. She said she'll keep the one with buttons for sure, but might give the others to her friends.

Couple of swap items:

My new lunch box in use. Falafel, rye bread, carrot and cabbage salad, tahini dressing (in the small container) and dried apple slices for dessert.

I received these hand carved stamps from Thomas Marow last week, but I didn't have time to try them then. Aren't they pretty? I have already made a background with the happy mushroom stamp, but the whole project isn't finished yet, so no pictures of that.

And couple of days ago I received a surprise from alwaysinmyroom, and I sure was surprised when I found all thin from the box. A pillow case (see how well it matches the blanket under it!), hand made soap (by MareMare), a bento box, chop sticks, ton of candy...

The other side of the pillow case. Now with a pillow inside.

Two pairs of pretty chop sticks.

And veggie chop stick holder things for them. They're inside the small box in the first photo.

Thank you so much to both of you!

14  Aliens! in Dyeing: Completed Projects by heini on: May 31, 2010 01:03:05 PM
I painted this scarf with dyeing colour on wet fabric to make the edges misty. I'm very happy with the result. I had no idea that I could paint this well!

I also embroidered a crop circle inspired motif on one corner.

I will give the scarf to my sister for a graduation present. Here's she wearing the scarf. As you see, the aliens are hiding inside the scarf and nobody will know she's carrying aliens around her neck.

The scarf is supposed to match with the trousers I made her.

15  Trousers for my sister in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by heini on: May 31, 2010 12:49:08 PM
I made these trousers for my sister. They're stretchy corduroy.

From behind:

Zippers on the back of the legs.

Opening the zippers make the trouser legs a little wider.

Lasing on the sides.

Belt loops are decorated with eyelets.

I made long fingerless gloves for my sister and got rid of two balls of yarn.

My friends got a baby recently and I sent them baby booties, a bib and a card. I also made similar booties to another friend who is pregnant at the moment and I have crocheted a third pair, but I still need to weave the ends in etc. 1 ball of blue alpaca yarn destashed.

Close up of the fun button I used for booties. And you can see the colour better.

I have finished some projects, but I couldn't take pictures some of them because I need someone to take pictures of me wearing them. But here's two.

I made a shirt for my friend's son. I had to buy the zipper and welt, but they were used and not added to my stash.

And a bib for her daughter. This is one of the bibs my mom had cut almost 20 years ago and which I told you about few pages ago.

Then the bad news. I have this much fabric left. And some more at school.

My yarn stash isn't so bad, and the boxes can be closed easily now even if my stash has grown with two balls I got from swaps.

With the magic yarn ball Annchen sent a fingerless gloves pattern. And here are the finished gloves. The yarn is black, but I made the picture a bit lighter so you can see the pattern better.

I liked the pattern so much that I made another pair. I ran out of the black yarn, but I had some red in my stash and used that for finishing. I haven't steamed these yet so they look wonkier than the black ones.

A little blurry close up.

All this I found inside the yarn ball.

Thanks again Annchen, I really enjoyed the ball you made and I'm wearing the gloves at the moment.
