2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Louis Vuitton Boxing Bag KNOCKOFF (image heavy) on: August 08, 2006 01:22:03 AM
I was on the internet scavenging for a boxing bag (I live in Hong Kong, and everybody seems to have one here) and I came across the Louis Vuitton Randonn bag. I liked the bag for its shape and design, and not for the ubiquitous LV/ checkered monogram. So I thought I would give it a shot at making the same bag sans monogram.

Heres the original bag:

And here is the bag I made:

Even though they're not completely the same, I think that I did a good job at duplicating the shape of the bag considering that this is only the second bag that I've made. (don't even ask what became of my first bag) I must admit thatI messed up the strap and the stitching as a whole, but as long at it doesn't fall apart in the next month I'm fine with it.

The whole bag was made with PVC fabric with the exception of the lining. The White and black parts were 'crocodile skin' (for some reason, I've become with croc skin(, the silver part is PVC that resembles patent leather, and the blue strap was supposed to be a tiffany blue color but the white of the bag made it seem much darker that it really is.

There is also a detachable pouch inside the bag.

The pouch is attatched with snap fasteners.

The bag's bottom is oval, so it lies on the back more comfortably.

And a final top view. I couldn't find a top view of the original bag.

Please tell me what you think! Thanks!  Grin

Your flower isn't 'wonky' at all! I think it looks terrific! However, how come I can't see the flower in the first photo of your bag..? Did you not sew it on yet?

Like everybody else, I like the colorful buttons! But I see some stray strands of thread popping up around the handles and the opening's rim, you should get rid of those before giving it to your friend. (I love the purple of your room, too!)

The main opening of the bag is so creative! It zips open at the sides at well! Did you think of this before hand? Or did you make the opening larger because of the zipper size? The slanted zippers are totally creative too. I'm sure your friend will love it!

I simple adore the liner! The photo of you wearing the bag put the bag's size into proportion, and I must say, its the perfect size! Its beg enough for school , but small enough for it to look cute. If I was anywhere near as skilled as you, then I would DEFINATLEY give a shot at making that bag, but unfortunately, I'm not. (I had a bad experience with sewing in circles.))

I love it! My friend's birthday is coming up soon and I'm strapped for money. I MUST make that bag for her! If mine is anything close to the quality of yours, then she'll be exhilarated, since she's been begging me for a new pencil case. Thank you so much for your inspiration!

I like how you cut the body's fabric so those 'lines' from the pattern seem to come out from the side and corner. However, I'm thinking that the material might be kind of flimsy, and you may want to line it with a stiffer fabric. Just my personal opinion.  Undecided

I think the best part of your bag are the curtain rings! They make the whole bag stand out, as does the sparkling cherry! Awesome work!
