1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: My son's monsters on: September 18, 2006 05:57:31 AM
Those are so cool! I love the antennae - are they just held up by the stuffing? Did you use a pattern or make them up yourself?
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Big Lebowski bowling shirt *image heavy on: September 11, 2006 01:37:06 PM
Thanks guys!  Smiley I was particularly pleased with the neat lettering on the back.

That 'Abide' shirt rules!

I've got to learn silk screen.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: the Incredible Hulk...in duct tape (no, really, it's just me) Img heavy on: September 10, 2006 02:02:10 PM
Oh my god, this is brilliant! This is the first dress form I've come across on here, and now I feel really stupid! Several years ago I tried to make one by wrapping chicken wire (owch) around myself and then papier-macheing it. It was a reasonable approximation of my body shape, but I never stuffed it, and partly because of the wire and partly because it was so light I couldn't pin anything onto it, and I'm ashamed to say I ended up stamping on it in a fit of rage...if only I had known about craftster then!

I'm going to book a date with my mum as taper right now!
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: I Wall-Paper-ed My MP3 Player...with the inside of an Envelope! :D on: September 10, 2006 01:50:44 PM
Wow, that looks really cool, you would never think that paper used to be an envelope.

I have a question about PVA as I note that you are in the UK too. Everyone on here uses mod podge for sealing this type of thing. I've got a box I want to decoupage with stamps, and I want to seal it really well - does the PVA dry hard and give good protection, or would you say if you tried you could peel it off or scratch it?
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Big Lebowski Swap Gallery on: September 10, 2006 11:43:55 AM
Thanks  Smiley I was pretty chuffed with it, even though the bowling pin is a bit wonky.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Big Lebowski Swap Gallery on: September 10, 2006 09:35:57 AM
I'm itching to see what everyone did. I didn't enter the swap but it inspired me, so I made this:

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Big Lebowski bowling shirt *image heavy on: September 10, 2006 09:26:36 AM
Inspired by the Big Lebowski swap that I couldn't enter, I just finished embroidering a plain brown Walter Sobchak polo shirt for my bf. I really hope he likes it, it took me ages! It's the most embroidery I've done on a piece of clothing, and I've never done text before. I'm really pleased with it.

The back...(For the bowling ball I drew around a CD and the CD hole for the finger holes)

This is all I did to the front

And the sleeve detail.
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Young Ones, violence, Bender, Alan Partridge... on: September 10, 2006 05:27:19 AM
I love love love your Alan Partridge stencil - I can't believe no-one else commented on it! I am just about to embroider some AP slippers for my bf with the blazer badge design, so I thought I'd see if there was any other Partridge craftiness on here - only your post came up! It's time craftsters discovered the magic of Alan.

Oh wow, I've just had a lightbulb moment - I think one of the slippers needs the quote "Smell my cheese, you mother!" on it!  Cheesy
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Retro bobble hat on: September 09, 2006 01:48:32 PM
Thanks, I like the colours too - you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find not-neon orange wool where I live! The bf specified he wanted any combination of blue, brown and orange. Couldn't find any brown wool at all! I obviously need to set up at craft supply shop  Wink
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: brilliant octopus on: September 09, 2006 01:43:47 PM
He's super cute! I love his pink 'suckers'. I'm a night-time crafter as well  Smiley
