11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Yarn left-overs - any ideas what to do with them? on: January 28, 2008 08:13:57 PM
I second the stuffing suggestion. I stuff all my yarn "scat" in a ziploc and when I need to stuff a toy I've made its the first place I go to.

I've collected tens of them over the last few years and a girl only needs so many resealable containers!

I also wrote a pattern for a swamp dragon with a zipper so that you could retrieve things the dragon has "eaten"..... but with, you know, less exploding.  Grin

I'd like to see the Ninja mask also...does anyone still have a picture of it?

I PMed the creator to see if she could repost a pic... I'm just waiting for a response.
18  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fall Discworld Swap Gallery on: November 25, 2007 08:35:39 AM
Awesome stuff!

While I once tried to knit a Perdita for my partner, I never once thought of that pun!  Cheesy

I'm still snickering about the Ookmark.

ETA: Discworld swaps are really the only swaps I do because of the insane amount of stuff you can do within the theme.  Smiley

If you are still fearful of DPNs, just knit a rectangle with whatever stitch and pattern you want, sew into a tube (making sure to leave an opening for your thumb and voila.

Don't be afraid of DPNs though, look up Teri Lee Royea's tutorial on sock knitting where she discusses her method of holding DPNs, as well there is also a tutorial on knittinghelp.com for DPN usage I believe.

Good Luck and post what you create!
