1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Recycled homemade gift wrap -- made from maps on: December 18, 2010 03:06:22 PM
I wrapped my dad's Christmas gifts in pages from my old book of maps.  Then I made a bow using a tutorial from Whole Living magazine.  What do you think?
I tried to choose pages with interesting colors/patterns.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Button brooches on: April 12, 2010 03:19:21 PM
I thought they were hats at first, too!  I love them as brooches though!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that silk dress.  Can we have a closer pic?  Also love the high-waisted skirt and boob tube Smiley

You made them with all good intentions.  Ignore people who don't know what they're talking about.
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: used mesh shower balls on: June 14, 2008 05:58:46 PM
Good idea! Thanks TheScrabbleGal!  I just so happen to have something to make the sachets with!

That's a good idea...too bad the holes are too big for lavender.  At least rose petals will work!

I too need to know what I can do with unraveling mesh shower scrubby puffs.  The plastic mesh tears so easily, so I don't think sewing it under a skirt would work for me.

Any other ideas?  Thanks!
9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: DIY Cloth Pads Tutorial on: April 28, 2008 11:20:42 PM
I used polarfleece as my "waterproof" layer.  It works great and has enough friction to be a good backing so the pad doesn't slide everywhere.

jennyleigh: I don't see why not.  I have an old umbrella, too, and I was also considering using mine for the same purpose.  The pads I made, though, just use polar fleece as a water resistant backing.  It is a bit thick, though.
