11  Red fabric earrings. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by stargirl52 on: May 02, 2005 10:48:53 PM
Ok, so I know the title of this post is a little wiggidy wack. But it does make sense.
I made these in about five seconds. It was easy as, and I doubt anyone needs a tutorial.

You would have no idea how hard it is to take a non blurry photo of your own ear. This one was made with a fake diamond post earring...

and this one with a vintage red ball post.
I used layers of tulle, red jersey and red rayon.
I know they're sorta weird, but from far away, they look like little roses.
Please do post, I would love to hear what you think.

12  Re: Tulle... why did I buy you? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by stargirl52 on: March 14, 2005 12:24:40 AM
A canopy for your bed would be awfully pretty.Just sew your bits together into a 2 1/2 m x 1 m piece (or maybe its still one long bit?), then secure the center of that to a small pole (dowell), 1 m in length. Basicly, then hang that up above your pillowish area of your bed,and attach some wire to some... ok i can't even verbally describe it. I'm far too illiterate for that. So, in order to display my "amazing" artistic skills, here's a diagram....

ask if you don't understand...

13  Black and White Spotty Skirt. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by stargirl52 on: February 21, 2005 11:51:33 PM
Well, I never said I could take photos.
This was once a high waisted, floor length, gross polyester skirt.
Here it is now...

It looks like it's houndstoothish, but it's just plain old dots.

In context, with the first thing i found in my drawers. Literally. I didn't have time to make it look grood. I mean good. And great. Great and good.
Sorry, i couldnt resist.
So please, critique, evern if you hate it with a passion.

15  My Altered Book in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by stargirl52 on: February 06, 2005 09:40:06 PM
Hi all,
I apologise in advance for the fact that I can't take pictures.
I have an altered book/art book that I have been working on for a while. My aim is to fill all 104 pages, and I'm up to 34.
This here is page number 34, the only page I've been happy with. Most i am continually adding to, for I am never happy with the results, but I am scared to touch this one, just in case i ruin it...

It's a bit hard to see, but that little thingy in the corner is a vintage astronomical chart. I really don't know why I put it there. The stars are embroidered, the backround a mix of watercolour pencils and pastels.
I do have pictures of a few of the other pages, but I would be too embarrased to post them, being amongst crafting royalty here.
Tell me what you think, PLEASE!

16  Re: photo cube (well its 8 or ten sides) in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by stargirl52 on: February 05, 2005 04:21:53 PM
Well, would you prefer a dodecahedron or a cuboctahedron??
Here's both...

Dodecahedron- 12 sides.

Cuboctahedron- 14 sides.
I think the cuboctahedron's what you're looking for. Am I right?
Just enlarge as you want, then print, and use the tabs to keep it together.
Glad to be of any service,

17  A Few Beaded Bracelets. in Beads: Completed Projects by stargirl52 on: February 04, 2005 08:33:09 PM
Well, here they are. Some more poorly made wearables from stargirl.
I'm all about the chunky, brightly coloured bracelet look at the moment, and I recently discovered a huge stash of kiddyish beads from when i was younger. Naturally, i make more something.

First one- pink and read plastic beads.
Second one- (not made from kiddy beads) twisty fake pearl and silver bead bracelet.
Third one- pink and purple wooden beaded bracelet.
Fourth one- same as 1st one, but green and blue.
Just wondering- would anyone pay, say, NZ$3 for any of these? I think that's 1-ish pound, and $1.50 US. I think.
Tell me what y'all think.

To get the pics on here, click the picture in the member galleries, then scroll down to near the bottom of the page. There is this little thing that says "UBB Code". Copy the URL that is after that into here, and you're done! OK i couldn't wait so here they are...

So prayer candles are just plain white tall thin candles?

I'm ever so sorry.
Feel free to ask lots of questions, and I can do a written version if needed.

20  Pink and White tutu skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by stargirl52 on: January 17, 2005 04:06:26 PM
Hi all,
I made this today from 1 metre of pale pink tulle, 1 metre of white tulle, and half of a vintage slip. I designed it for 'round the house wear, jogging, bathing, going to the grocery store, and fixing cars in.
The first pic was taken with flash, so it looks funny and metallic, but in reality, it's just plain old tulle. It also looks very, very non ruffley, but it is of a high degree of ruffleyness in reality.

I'm wearing my ballet flat style slippers there, so it has the all over dance look.

Both the pictures are really bad, sorry. If you look really carefully at the 2nd one, you will see a tiny blob on the left hip. See it??? Look harder... That is, in fact, a little tulle rosette with white tulley strips (that look like ribbon) coming off it.
It was surprisingly easy. If anyone really wants a tute, I could do one.
Thanks for looking,
-G.
